JODY CHRISTMAS NEW RCW CHAMPION!!
BALLS MAHONEY WINS 3 MATCHES TO WIN TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP!!
LEWIS O'DAY WINS MATCH FOR NEW EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP!!
STAN BAKER & NEIDHART WIN THE RCW TAG TEAM TITLES!!
A solid 3 1/2 hour action packed house show as RCW returns to Winnipeg under new management.
Bout #1: Triangle Match for the vacant RCW Tag Team Titles
Vincent Regliatti & Derek Graves (/w Sharon Montgomery) vs Jim Neidhart & Stan Baker vs IBZ: Wiked Klown & Shaggy
The Spinebusters: Bryan Caruthers & Jerry Orth were stripped of the titles when they did not sign to wrestle with the new RCW. A three way match was set up to crown new champions. Sharon Montgomery who had been the manager of the Spinebusters was allowed to bring in a tag team and she introduced us to Vincent Regliatti & Derek Graves. Regliatti is from Vancouver, BC and has the stoner snowboarder vibe, while Derek Graves is apparently also the new boy friend (or boy toy) of Montgomery, and at 6'2 255 lbs., is a physical and athletic specimen. All three of them have egos the size of Texas. The next team was supposed to be Jim Neidhart & Vic Gate but it was announced that Gate had missed his flight. Neidhart asked for a replacement from the back and he got "Sinister" Stan Baker. He didn't seem to like the fact he got a rulebreaker for a tag partner but Neidhart had no other real options so agreed. The final team were the IBZ; Wiked Klown and Shaggy (Insane Clown Posse rip offs apparently).
Baker was the first man to juice tonight getting busted wide open. Wiked Klown of the IBZ of the got the pin over Vincent Regliatti to eliminate Montgomery's team. (17:20)
However, it was Wiked Klown who would then be pinned by Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart to give Neidhart and Baker the tag belts.
Winners by pinfall Jim Neidhart/Stan Baker (19:02)

Jack Larkin (the new owner) came to the ring to introduce himself to a mix of cheers and jeers. He gave everyone an update on all the title situations, what they would see tonight, and the addition of a new title (The European Title). The hope would be that RCW would start to do more co-branded shows with European partners. And a 4-man mini-tournament would be held next to determine the first champion.
Bout #2: European Title Tournament Semi-Final
Spyder pinned Scarlett Birmingham after a 5-star splash 7:27
**upset as Spyder is just a local worker while Birmingham is a veteran star of the NWA and was one of the big signings of the new RCW. The fans loved it though.
Bout #3: European Title Tournament Semi-Final
Lewis O'Day pinned Boss Strickland while applying the figure-four in 6:18
**O'Day makes a triumphant return to RCW. Strickland is another newcomer signed by RCW. He has only been a pro for a year or so, but comes from a solid amateur background. Despite that classical wrestling background he is an arrogant heel who would prefer to cheat then fight fair.
*******************************************************************
Cobra had also elected to return to SAWF and was stripped of his Television title, and that set the stage for another tournament to crown a new champion.
Bout #4: Television Title Tournament Quarter-Final
Ben Bassarab pinned Kutlu Warrior Johnny Stewart after a lariat in 8:49
**Fans were excited to see Bassarab return to RCW. Johnny Stewart has made a major transformation over the past two years from a fast paced wrestler to a hardcore legend having spent time in Singapore and in the NWA.
Bout #5: Television Title Tournament Quarter-Final
Balls Mahoney pinned Nick Mercury after a running legdrop in 17:30
**Balls Mahoney beating Nick Mercury was the best match of the night so far that saw Mahoney juice badly. Nick Mercury made his return to RCW but much to the surprise of the fans came back as a heel, a spoiled prima donna, with his out of shape personal security guard Big Albert. At one point Mercury was going to leave the match but Albert talked him into staying.
On the other side of the tournament;
Bout #6: Television Title Tournament Quarter-Final
Joe E. Legend (/w Mistress Gloom) pinned Menele after the Legend cutter in 9:29
**although Legend managed to win both men were bleeding and busted up pretty good by the end of the match. Legend has stayed with RCW but has a new manager, apparently dumping Mercedes for Mistress Gloom (a heavier set BDSM looking monster). Speaking of monsters, the mysterious Menele does not speak, is built like a brickhouse, wrestlers with singlet and shaved head, and no desire to follow the rules.
Bout #7: Television Title Tournament Quarter-Final
Jesse Hennig pinned Gary Goodridge after the running necksnap in 14:30
**Big upset for Hennig over Goodridge. Both these men of course have been in RCW before, and Goodridge seems to have converted back to a face following his main event loss last year to Vendetta.
***********************************************************************************
The last RCW Heavyweight Champion of course was Vendetta who abdicated his title back at the Anniversary show. A 4 man mini-tournament is held tonight to crown a new champion.
Bout #8: Heavyweight Title Tournament Semi-Final
Steve Corino defeated Bobby Duncum Jr by pinfall after a spingboard back elbow at 14:48
**Corino is not well known to the crowd but the fact he hails from right here in Winnipeg gave him a big pop against the return of a well known heel. Duncum controlled Corino for most of this match but the local boy kept fighting back. Duncum survived being in a sharpshooter for over a minute but was caught off guard by what turned out to be the finisher.
Bout #9: Heavyweight Title Tournament Semi-Final
Jody Christmas defeated Kurrgan by pinfall after a flying cross bodypress (with his feet on the ropes) at 16:32
**excellent match. Jody Christmas was a big signing for RCW. He has cut his teeth in indies and in the NWA for several years now and had a short stint with a WWF developmental territory. However, he couldn't tow the corporate line in WWF and was released. He is in the Shawn Michaels, Stan Lane, Michael Hayes style of wrestler. Good in the ring, but even better on the mic. He cut a heel promo before the bout to make sure the fans knew what was what, and so the paying public happily embraced the former "Oddity" Kurrgan who looked like the absolute monster that he is. Kurrgan controlled most of the bout. Christmas missed a plancha and landed heavily on the floor. Kurrgan nailed a tombstone piledriver but Mistress Gloom (who we had seen earlier in the corner of Joe E. Legend) had come out to ringside and put Christmas' leg across the bottom rope to save him. She then distracted Kurrgan which allowed an attack from behind. Christmas nailed a short flurry of moves then a flying crossbody and put his feet on the ropes for extra leverage to pick up the win.
***********************************************************************
Bout #10: Television Title Tournament Semi-Final
Balls Mahoney pinned Ben Bassarab after a gutwrench suplex in 4.39
**The night's most disappointing effort.
Bout #11: Television Title Tournament Semi-Final
Joe E. Legend (/w Mistress Gloom) pinned Jesse Hennig after the Legend Cutter in 10:56
************************************************************************
Bout #12: European Title Tournament Final
Lewis O'Day pinned Spyder by pinfall after a running kneesmash at 5:33
[Lewis O'Day wins the tournament for the vacant European Championship]
O'Day also injured his knee but would only miss one week's action.
*************************************************************************
Bout #13: Television Title Tournament Final
Balls Mahoney defeated Joe E. Legend (/w Mistress Gloom) by pinfall after a running legdrop at 11:58
[Balls Mahoney won the RCW Television Title]
*************************************************************************
Main Event: RCW Heavyweight Title Tournament Final
Jody Christmas (/w Mistress Gloom) defeated Steve Corino by pinfall after a superkick at 6:24
[Jody Christmas won the vacant RCW Heavyweight Title]
Christmas controlled early, and every time that Corino made a comeback Gloom was there to do something to aid her man in getting back control. The match turned into a brawl, and Christmas was able to pull off a surprise superkick and pick up the win.
