Angie leaks info she finds on her aunt's desk, and it goes viral, putting Suzy's job in jeopardy. The Washington Post tries to hire back Suzy. She is ready to jump at the chance, to gain back her old lifestyle, a legitimate journalism job. However, Elliott throws doubt as to the Post's real motives, suggesting it has to do with their investigation into Gary Graham. Elliott makes a big money job offer to Suzy to stay. Mercedes jumps ship to another online news source, and takes many of the Graham story's leads with her. Carl gets into a fight with one of Angie's accused rapists' fathers. Danny and Suzy agree to share some mutual information, and a bottle of wine, that turns into more.

In the end they decide to sell the story to another online website "Blood Money" that deals with more sensational stories. However, Danny doesn't seem to buy the story and Suzy accuses him of letting his emotions over their tryst get in the way of logic. The IRS shows up, ledgers a blazing, to audit Elliott Marz and Post-Net.
1.07 - "Breaking"
At her new job Mercedes publishes a version of the Gary Graham story, incomplete and inaccurate but enough to create damage to Post-Net's investigation. Elliott spars with the IRS, and his attempts to get help from a friendly congressman surprisingly falls on deaf ears. Suzy works on a story about a sex offender now trying to live in a gentrified community.
1.08 - "Confidential Informant"
Suzy pursues the lead that Gary Graham's informant used the same name as her informant to try and reestablish the connection that went cold. Pam takes a trip to the Washington Post to look into Gary's pension but also to try and dig up information on his death. Angie's new boyfriend Devon tries to do her a favour by hacking into some personal email accounts of reporters. Danny pursues the Chinese angle and soon finds out that even as an FBI agent he is in over his head.
1.09
Danny investigates Carl Graham when he is seen gambling with the Chinese, and tries to keep it a secret from Suzy during their first real date. D.T. reaches out again to Suzy drawing out an intermediary between the Post and the Chinese. Elliott Marz fires back at the IRS with a lawsuit led by a Johnny Cochrane like lawyer. Mercedes is reported missing, and as the days go by Danny begins to worry about foul play.
