He lives by his instincts and rogue style, because he has short term memory loss which constantly gets in the way of rational or predictable behaviour. The constant drinking and carousing doesn't help matters. His cases take him across the country, but when he returns home to Des Moines he lives in a depressing bachelor suite above an oriental massage parlour, where his "girlfriend" Cindy (not her real name) works. Grant confuses their professional relationship with a real relationship. But when he needs to think Grant returns to his childhood home, somewhat oblivious to the Vietnamese family who now live there. In case this wasn't a strange enough premise, the show will be a two person production, with the two actors playing all the show's characters.

To make matters worse, Moon's daughter Soleil, an original trust fund baby, seems attached to her Daddy at the hip and is also romantically interested (and starved for attention) in both Keith & Amir, despite being 20 years their senior.

Having been named the executor of the estate (and 50% beneficiary, the other 50% a local charity), Seth decides to contact the publisher and take the money to help pay off the estate's debts and pay for the funeral. Surprisingly, the book becomes a sensation and Seth finds his life complicated by money, family, charity, and his own guilt over not only having sold out his brother but also not supporting his mental health which he believed was all nonsense.
