Hour #1
Opening Bout Guy Incognito defeated Mike Wildside by pinfall after an inverted DDT at 3:33 **premiere of Incognito, using the same name as a Simpson's character. Unlike the beloved TV show however, Guy was not liked by the fans.
Bout #2 Stan Baker (/w Nick Bockwinkel) defeated Rad Radford by pinfall after a heartpunch at 6:17 **Rad was doing all right but seemed quite distracted by Bockwinkel, and the manager reached in and tripped Radford at just the right time to turn the match in Baker's favour. After the bout Radford tried to chase down Bockwinkel but Baker caught him from behind and got in an extra beat down.
Bout #3 Manny Silva defeated Keywon Grant by pinfall after a wheelbarrow suplex at 8:02 **solid match but Silva continues to roll while Grant is treading water.
Bout #4 North American Women's Title Match Emma Bezzlerr and Mistress Gloom battled to a no-contest at 3:35 [Emma Bezzlerr retained the North American Women's Title] **the match was just starting to pick up steam when Tami Kim hit the ring and attacked both wrestlers. A three way brawl broke out. Haessler and Untermenschen hit the ring to help out Bezzlerr and were followed seconds later by Stan Baker helping out Kim. Just when it looked like Gloom was on her own Manny Silva of all people came to stand with her. Now that is a strange pairing.
Hour #2
Bout #5 RCW Television Title Match Lewis O'Day defeated Jesse Hennig by pinfall after hitting him with brass knuckles at 8:39 [Lewis O'Day retained the RCW Television Title] **Hennig used some impressive wrestling skills and a ground attack to give the champ, who has been so dominant, a run for his money. In the end O'Day took advantage of a ref bump to brandish a pair of brass knux getting the win, and busting Hennig wide open at the same time.
Bout #6 RCW Tag Team Title Match Todd Bullett & Robbie Royce defeated Wolfgang Haessler & Untermenschen (/w Emma Bezzlerr) by disqualification at 10:11 [Wolfgang Haessler & Untermenschen retained the RCW Tag Team Titles] **this was the rubber match between the teams with the challengers having won a non-title bout, the champions then followed up with a successful title defence. Hard to say if the champs felt like their titles were in jeopardy or they just decided to do damage because they could. However, they managed to isolate Royce after tossing Bullett over the top rope. They delivered two spiked piledrivers, and the ref threw the match out because they ignored his count and continued the assault. After the bout Royce had his neck immobilized and was removed on a stretcher.
Main Event RCW Heavyweight Title Match Waylon Mercy defeated Greg Valentine by pinfall after a running bulldog at 9:53 [Waylon Mercy Won the RCW Heavyweight Title] **Mercy got this shot in no small part to his sneak attack on Valentine last week. Valentine had been such a dominant champ, and controlled most of this bout (much of which was spent on the mat). But Mercy had some inner strength to muster a comeback and used a series of choke holds and a hotshot off the neck to set up his bulldog finisher and end an impressive reign of almost 6 months for Valentine (which began of course with a tournament win over Waylon Mercy). Six months ago Valentine was the rulebreaker and Mercy the fan favourite but now those roles have been reversed.

River City Wrestling #621 July 13, 1996 Winnipeg, Manitoba
Hour #1
Opening Bout Guy Incognito defeated David Jericho by pinfall after an inverted DDT at 4:45 **a bit of an upset here, thanks to Incognito getting in an undetected low blow, and with his hands lowered to protect his manhood against further assault Jericho was easy pickings for the finisher.
Bout #2 Nikita Nikolishin defeated Tammy Rief by pinfall with a schoolgirl pin at 4:13 **good match to determine the pecking order, and a clean one between two fan favourites.
Bout #3 Wolfgang Haessler (/w Emma Bezzlerr) defeated Todd Bullett by pinfall after a piledriver at 6:20 **with Bullett's partner Royce on the shelf, injured from last week's double team, Bullett tried unsuccessfully to extract some revenge.
Bout #4 Manny Silva and Untermenschen (/w Emma Bezzler) battled to a no-contest at 3:30 **this one never got too much momentum before these two bulls took it outside the ring and started to try and cripple each other. Bezzlerr then jumped on Silva, which brought Mistress Gloom out (returning the favour from last week when Silva helped her out). The four person brawl got it thrown out. Hour #2
Bout #5 Street Fight Jesse Hennig & Rad Radford defeated Lewis O'Day & Stan Baker by 10 count when O'Day was counted down at 13:36 **four man street fight that combined two separate feuds. O'Day and Baker were doing well but Hennig and Radford helped each other out more and eventually took over the bout. Nick Bockwinkel came out to help out Baker, but this brought out Nikita Nikolishin to help out Radford. Nikita jumped onto the back of Bock who then filpped her and put her in a sleeperhold. But this seemed to piss off O'Day who told him to stop. The distraction though bought him a chair shot from behind from Hennig, and he was then counted out while Radford battled Baker.
Bout #6 North American Women's Title Match Bermuda Triangle Match Emma Bezzlerr defeated Mistress Gloom and Tami Kim (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by pinfall when Bezzlerr pinned Gloom after a superplex at 6:49 [Emma Bezzlerr retained the North American Women's Title] **Both Bezzlerr and Gloom seemed to want to beat up on Kim, whether that was because of previous bad deeds, the presence and mouth of Bockwinkel, or because they thought she was the easiest to get a quck victory from can not be said. However, Gloom soon turned on Bezzlerr and a true 3 way fight was on. Bockwinkel tried to get involved twice and that was enough to see Untermenschen (to back Bezzlerr) and Manny Silva (to back Gloom) to come out to the ring, and they both went after Bockwinkel. Security had to get involved and save Bockwinkel, but although he was the only one allowed to stay (he is the only one with a manager's license) he was successfully neutered and sat near the announce table the rest of the match. Meanwhile during the distraction which sucked in the ref, a chair was introduced and all 3 women tried to use it, wrestle it away, and smash each other. Bezzlerr held the chair in front of Gloom who had been clobbered, and Kim was going to superkick it into Gloom's face, but the behemoth pulled Bezzlerr forward and Kim kicked the chair into Bezzlerr instead. Gloom then speared Kim, covered for a 2 count. Gloom climbed to the top rope, but Kim recovered and tried to superplex Gloom off the top. But Gloom held on, and Bezzlerr also climbed up and knocked Kim off, then punched Gloom and took her over with a superplex and got the pin to retain her title.
Main Event RCW Heavyweight Title Match Waylon Mercy defeated Greg Valentine by pinfall after an inside cradle at 8:58 [Waylon Mercy retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] **this was Valentine's return bout after having dropped the title to Mercy last week. Mercy controlled early but when he went for a bulldog finisher Valentine was able to push him off, sending him headfirst into the ringpost. He then went to work on the champ with mostly elbows and knees, and then a figure four which failed to get the submission. Finally Valentine climbed to the second buckle and dropped the elbow...but Mercy rolled out of the way and after Valentine crashed to the mat he rolled him up for the 3 count.

Hour #1
Opening Bout Elmwood Brawler defeated Vance Nevada by pinfall after a bolo punch at 3:30 **good TV premiere for the Brawler
Bout #2 Bermuda Triangle Match Cynthia Rothrock defeated Tammy Rief and Nikita Nikolishin by pinfall when Rothrock pinned Rief after a spinning heel kick at 7:22 **Rothrock makes a triumphant return to RCW TV, she has her sights on regaining her Women's title.
Bout #3 David Jericho defeated Guy Incognito by pinfall after a shooting star press at 4:18 **revenge was sweet for Jericho.
Bout #4 Stan Baker (/w Nick Bockwinkel) defeated Rad Radford (/w Nikita Nikolishin) by pinfall after a kneedrop at 6:37 **Was an even match until Bockwinkel tripped up Radford to turn the tables. Nikita tried to return the favour a minute later but Radford had reversed it so Nikita tripped up Rad insead. Baker dropped a big knee and picked up the win.
Hour #2
Bout #5 RCW Tag Team Title Match Wolfgang Haessler & Untermenschen defeated Manny Silva & Mistress Gloom by pinfall when Untermenschen pinned Gloom after a release powerbomb at 8:59 [Haessler & Untermenschen retained the RCW Tag Team Titles] **Emma Bezzlerr was not out at ringside with the tag champs, presumably because she was getting ready to defend her title next bout. It's funny how Silva has had such problems before with tag partners, especially temporary ones, as he does not play well with others; yet he seems to be getting along with Mistress Gloom. For her part Gloom is a bit bigger then the average women so she tried to wrestle with the men, and held her own for a bit, with Silva not trying to shelter her at all. However, in the end it was that lack of sheltering that cost them the bout as she tried to match power versus power with Untermenschen and the beast just about drove her through the mat with his finisher.
Bout #6 North American Women's Title Match Emma Bezzlerr defeated Tami Kim (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by pinfall after a Gorilla press slam at 7:34 [Emma Bezzlerr retained the North American Women's Title] **good match, possibly the blow off of the mini-feud. Bockwinkel was his usual self but Bezzlerr at one point rung his bell with a DDT outside the ring which left him dazed and confused the rest of the bout. Back inside Bezzlerr anticipated and side stepped some sweet chin music, took the challenger down with a clothesline. About four moves later she hit her finisher and the bout was over.
Main Event RCW Television Title Match Lewis O'Day defeated Jesse Hennig by pinfall after a fistdrop (/w brass knuckles) at 9:10 [Lewis O'Day retained the RCW Television Title] **it was deja vu all over again, just like two weeks ago when O'Day did the same thing. Again Hennig was left knocked out and bleeding. This feud is not over.
That's it for another edition of River City Wrestling. See ya next week!!
Breaking kayfabe; Looking at the results the fed has swung from mostly real wrestlers two years ago, to a mix, and now more in the flavour of created wrestlers. From this card there were 4 real wrestlers (Vance Nevada, David Jericho (aka Kid Cash), Rad Radford (aka Louie Spicolli), and Jesse Hennig (far better and more over in the fantasy world then the real world) 10 fantasy wrestlers (Elmwood Brawler, Nikita Nikolishin, Guy Incognito (based on the Simpsons character, no idea why, he was in my notes, I'm not even a big Simpsons fan), Stan Baker (not my creation), Wolfgang Haessler, Untermenschen (was based on Scott Norton, but he was signed to WCW so I did a rip off), Manny Silva, Mistress Gloom, Emma Bezzlerr, Lewis O'Day (based on Fit Finlay, but he was signed to WCW so I did a rip off) 3 wrestlers based on real people who were not actually wrestlers (Cynthia Rothrock (Actress, Martial Arts), Tammy Rief (bikini competitor), Tami Kim (bikini competitor)

River City Wrestling #625 July 27, 1996 Winnipeg, Manitoba
Hour #1
Opening Bout Elmwood Brawler defeated Guy Incognito by pinfall after a Bolo punch at 4:08 **Friday night at Falcon Beach was the dress rehearsal for this bout apparently
Bout #2 Stan Baker defeated Todd Bullett by pinfall after a heartpunch at 5:20 **Bullett was actually doing quite well, controlled most of the bout, but made one mistake telegraphing a flying cross body block and Baker made him pay. No sign or mention of Nick Bockwinkel tonight.
Bout #3 Manny Silva and Untermenschen battled to a no-contest at 6:11 **another attempt for these two savages to settle things inside the ring for their simmering, on again, off again feud. To no avail, as nothing was settled. Fans hate both men but were thoroughly entertained by the carnage.
Bout #4 Greg Valentine defeated Wolfgang Haessler by disqualification for outside interference (Untermenschen) at 8:43 **very good match, with two guys who work the classical style of bout including as much ring psychology as they can. Valentine controlled most of the bout but Haessler would either take a time out by leaving the ring, or he would sneak in a chokehold or eye rake to extend the bout. Emma Bezzlerr was not in Haessler's corner, presumably again because she is preparing for her title match next. This is also back to back matches tonight for the tag team champions in singles competition. In the end Untermenschen came to ringside and just entered the ring and pounded away on Valentine. The two on one beat down was on. Manny Silva came down to the ring but not to save Valentine, he just tossed Untermenschen out of the ring and then those two battled it out around ringside. This still left Valentine at the mercy of Haessler who by this time had busted him open, hard way. Surprisingly from the back came Lewis O'Day who ejected Haessler from the ring. The Germans regrouped outside the ring and left together. O'Day and Silva left seperately with neither checking on Valentine who lay on his back wearing the proverbial crimson mask.
Hour #2
Bout #5 North American Women's Title Match Cynthia Rothrock defeated Emma Bezzlerr by pinfall after a spinning heel kick at 7:55 [Cynthia Rothrock Wins the North American Women's Title] **the end of an impressive run for the German Bezzlerr, having won the title in March. Considering the level of competition for the title, and the rate the title has been switching hands, a 4 month reign is actually pretty impressive. For the diminutive but tough and skilled Rothrock it is the start of her 5th title reign (a record, as she passes Hall of Famer Tawney England who had 4 title reigns). Rothrock controlled early, Bezzlerr though took over the bout. The champ though went for a Gorilla press slam which the challenger dropped out of, ran the champ into the buckle, then nailed her finisher and picked up a decisive win.
Bout #6 RCW Television Title Match Coal Miners Glove Match Lewis O'Day defeated Jesse Hennig by pinfall after hitting him with the Coal Miners Glove at 11:04 [Lewis O'Day retained the RCW Television Title] **there have been a couple indications lately that O'Day may be having a bit of a change of heart. First he showed compassion for a lady, Nikita, during a tag bout that got out of hand, and earlier tonight he came to the rescue of Greg Valentine. O'Day, the Irish thug, was interviewed before the bout and said that he respected Valentine because he is the only guy in RCW who has beat him fair and square. He says he still wants to beat Valentine, but now that the Hammer doesn't have the title he doesn't really care that much about it. In case anyone thinks he is going soft he intends to cripple Hennig tonight. For the most part both men ignored the steel glove that was suspended on a pole over one of the turnbuckles. The two men fought inside and outside of the ring, the rulebook was put away on the shelf for this one. The Coal Miners Glove match is an old RCW tradition dating back to the start, and is one of our favourite grudge matches. Eventually both men tried and failed to get enough distance to climb the pole and get the glove. Getting the glove does not assure victory either, as history has shown quite often the opponent can get the glove instead and use it first. In this case though both men ended up climbing the top rope, on either side of the pole, jostling for position. O'Day managed to push Hennig off, grab the glove. It looked like Hennig might be able to get in an attack first, but O'Day used his other hand to deliver a quick, stunning jab, and then nailed the challenger with the steel glove and cover for the 3 count.
Main Event RCW Heavyweight Title Match Waylon Mercy defeated David Jericho by pinfall after a back elbow at 6:16 [Waylon Mercy retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] **the main event was the Heavyweight title match, because as traditionalists the RCW has a pecking order, and the Heavyweight title match comes last (unless there is a cage match). But this bout was a little anti-climatic after two very good and important matches preceding. Jericho had his moments using his speed but Mercy had the whole, shake it off thing going. Mercy though went for his running bulldog finisher and Jericho was able to push him off into the buckle. However, when he followed him in the champ fed him a back elbow that knocked him the *** out.
