Hour #1
Opening Bout Waylon Mercy defeated Vance Nevada by submission to the sleeperhold at 5:36 **Last we saw Mercy he lost to Greg Valentine in the tournament final in January for the vacant RCW Heavyweight title. He had been on the shelf ever since. He made quick work of Vance Nevada, and while he was as insane as ever the fans are eating his character up.
Bout #2 Tami Kim defeated Tammy Rief battled to a no-contest at 2:30 **total catfight between the two former partners now apparently bitter enemies. Nothing was settled other then both may have lost some hair.
Bout #3 Mixed Tag Bout Nikita Nikolishin & Black Russian defeated April Cummings & Keywon Grant by pinfall when Nikolishin pinned Cummings after a single arm DDT at 5:57 **rules were ladies could only fight ladies, so a tag meant both teams tagged. However the match's turning point was when the Russian managed to catch Cummings coming off the ropes with a knee to the back which left her exposed for Nikita to hit the single arm DDT for the win. Post-Match: As Grant saw to Cummings he was jumped from behind by the Black Russian and received a short beating.
Bout #4 North American Women's Title Match Jeanne Basone defeated Emma Bezzlerr by countout at 7:11 [Emma Bezzlerr retained the North American Women's Title] **Basone's experience, speed, and repertoire kept the powerful champ off balance. Bezzlerr feigned returning into the ring but slipped off the apron instead to get a last second countout. She took her title and left as quickly as she could.
Hour #2
Bout #5 RCW Television Title Match Lewis O'Day defeated David Jericho by pinfall after a running kneesmash at 8:03 [Lewis O'Day retained the RCW Television Title] **Jericho looked good but at the end of the day, well O'Day is on a roll and won clean.
Bout #6 RCW Tag Team Title Match Wolfgang Haessler & Untermenschen (/w Emma Bezzlerr) defeated Man Mountain Rock & Hakushi by pinfall when Untermenschen pinned Hakushi after a release powerbomb at 10:59 [Haessler & Untermenschen Win the RCW Tag Team Titles] **the improbable pairing of Rock & Hak lose the titles in fairly decisive fashion. It became apparent in this bout that Haessler, not Bezzlerr is the leader of this little group of Germans. Also the power of Untermenschen (means subhuman in German) is incredible, as before he nailed Hakushi he actually managed to nail the big Rock with a release powerbomb as well.
Main Event RCW Heavyweight Title Match Greg Valentine defeated Kamala by disqualification for abuse of official at 8:16 [Greg Valentine retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] **Kamala was a special guest brought in to give Valentine some competition, since he has been rolling over the top competitors lately. Kamala was a beast and he set a frenetic pace to start but Valentine battled back. When things got dicey for the Ugandan headhunter he turned his fury on the ref getting himself disqualified.
Post-Match: Kamala chopped Valentine in the throat then kneed him in the groin. He then began to give him a beatdown. From the back came Waylon Mercy to a big ovation. Kamala backed up with caution, but Mercy began to lay the boots to Valentine. Kamala joined him in a two on one beatdown until the good guys dressing room emptied to make the save. Even with that it took Jericho, Grant, Rock, and Hakushi and they were no match for Kamala and Mercy. But Brunzell came out and dragged Valentine out of the ring to save him.

Hour #1
Opening Bout Manny Silva defeated Robbie Royce by pinfall after a wheelbarrow suplex at 3:38 **squash match. No explanation was given for the absence of Nick Bockwinkel tonight or whether the Agency (Bockwinkel, Silva, Hennig, Baker, Gloom are still operating as a group).
Interview: Waylon Mercy gives an interview and explains why he turned his anger on Greg Valentine last week. In a nutshell (no pun intended, well maybe) Mercy says he should have been the top contender coming back from his injury because he finished second in the tournament, but instead he was given the role of curtain jerker. Now it's no more Mr. Nice Guy.
Bout #2 Jesse Hennig defeated David Jericho by pinfall after a somersault neck snap at 5:31 **decent showing for Jericho but Hennig seems to be a notch higher in the pecking order in RCW and came up with the win. Again, no Nick Bockwinkel tonight.
Bout #3 Nikita Nikolishin defeated April Cummings by pinfall after a single arm DDT at 4:11 **impressive win for the Russian femme fatale against a former champion who's stock is dropping.
Bout #4 Keywon Grant defeated Black Russian (/w Nikita Nikolishin) by submission to the cobra clutch at 7:57 **good win for Grant to keep him in the running in the heavyweight division. The run of the Black Russian has been less then impressive.
Hour #2
Bout #5 Tami Kim defeated Tammy Rief by pinfall after a superkick at 6:38 **very important match for these two former partners. Not only does it settle the score, but it sets up the pecking order as to who might have a better singles career going forward. Kim was the winner, in fairly clean fashion so it looks like she will get more opportunities in the weeks to come. This was not a popular outcome for the fans who were solidly behind Rief who had taken the high road in this break up.
Bout #6 Six-Man Mixed Tag Team Match Wolfgang Haessler, Untermenschen, & Emma Bezzlerr defeated Todd Bullett, Mike Wildside, & Jeanne Basone by pinfall when Haessler pinned Wildside after a piledriver at 9:10 **Basone actually got the better of Bezzlerr throughout this bout, and Bullett looked okay but was out muscled by Menschen. And Wildside was by far the weak link in this bout. At the end we had a six person brawl, and it looked like Basone would pin Bezzler after a superplex, but Menschen who had been battling with Bullett outside the ring pulled Basone out of the ring by her feet. This distracted Wildside who was taken down with a back suplex by Haessler, who then nailed the piledriver on him and got the win (despite not being the legal men in the match).
Main Event RCW Heavyweight Title Match Greg Valentine defeated Waylon Mercy by countout at 8:52 [Greg Valentine retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] **Mercy was brutal and had uncanny strength. However Valentine hurt his opponent's shoulder early and went after it. In the end Mercy took a countout because of an apparent shoulder injury.

Hour #1
Opening Bout Tami Kim defeated Nikita Nikolishin by pinfall after a superkick at 5:28 **a match which helps set the pecking order in the Women's division which seems overly full of rulebreakers (these two included) and lacking in fan favourites. Nikita looked alright but Kim looks ready to challenge for the title.
Bout #2 Rad Radford defeated Vance Nevada by pinfall after a spinning spinebuster at 3:10 **coming in as a fan favourite in his premiere Rad Radford (familiar to fans from his short WWF stint) made short work of Nevada.
Bout #3 Robbie Royce & Todd Bullett defeated Black Russian (/w Nikita Nikolishin) & Caveman Broda when Royce pinned Broda after a double dropkick at 4:50 **Royce and Bullett worked really well together for their first time teaming, while Broda makes his return to RCW as the weak link.
Bout #4 David Jericho defeated Manny Silva (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by countout at 6:47 **Silva was at times frustrated by the speed and finesse of Jericho, but we have seen him beat more accomplished grapplers in the past. What he couldn't get past though was the coaching and criticism from his super agent Bockwinkel, and ended up taking the countout so he could argue with Bockwinkel. After the bout the two men walked away separated.
Hour #2
Bout #5 North American Women's Title Match Emma Bezzlerr defeated Jeanne Basone by pinfall after a Gorilla press slam at 7:03 [Emma Bezzlerr retained the North American Women's Title] **Bezzlerr is a strong champion, and she beat a strong challenger and former champion Basone. In the end Bezzlerr cheated (because that's what rule breakers do), but for the most part the win was uncontested.
Bout #6 RCW Tag Team Title Match Wolfgang Haessler & Untermenschen (/w Emma Bezzlerr) defeated Jesse Hennig & Stan Baker (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by pinfall when Untermenschen pinned Hennig after a release powerbomb at 10:43 [Haessler & Untermenschen retained the RCW Tag Team Titles] **two disliked teams from the fans point of view, but the hatred for Bockwinkel was strong enough that the fans actually cheered for the Germans. Bezzlerr was called upon twice to neutralize Bockwinkel, and in the end a double team by the champs set up the monster Untermenschen to try and drive Hennig through the mat.
Main Event RCW Television Title Match Lewis O'Day defeated Keywon Grant by pinfall after a running kneesmash at 6:24 [Lewis O'Day retained the RCW Television Title] **even enough and competitive match but O'Day took the former champ down one more time, with a fairly clean win. Maybe the TV champion is ready for another shot at the Heavyweight Champion?
Post-Match The ring cleared but Nick Bockwinkel came to the ring and called out his troops. Jesse Hennig, Stan Baker, Mistress Gloom, and Manny Silva came to the ring. Bockwinkel berated them for not having won any gold, all of them had failed. Hennig suggested that if they had all failed that maybe the problem was not with them but with their leader (Bockwinkel). Bockwinkel of course disagreed and told Hennig if he didn't like it he could just buy out his contract with the Bockwinel Talent Agency. Hennig didn't like that, things escalated, and finally Hennig said he was out of here. He asked Baker if he was joining him, but the big man hesitated. Then he agreed, but as they left the ring Baker attacked Hennig from behind. When Hennig made a slight comeback Gloom stepped in to make it two on one. In the meantime Manny Silva just shook his head and walked out on Bockwinkel! The two on one beatdown continued until security broke it up.
That's it for another edition of River City Wrestling. See you next week!

Hour #1
Opening Bout Tammy Rief defeated Nikita Nikolishin by pinfall after a superplex at 5:30 **an interesting pecking order match that sees on the few fan favourites in the female division get to the pay window.
Pre-Match Interview: Manny Silva makes it known that he is done with the Nick Bockwinkel "Talentless" Agency. But in case any of the fans got any ideas that he had softened he made sure to insult them enough to get back the jeers. And in case that wasn't enough he attacked Jericho before the opening bell.
Bout #2 Manny Silva defeated David Jericho by pinfall after a wheelbarrow suplex at 3:12 **short and violent, could describe either Silva or this match.
Bout #3 Rad Radford defeated Black Russian (/w Nikita Nikolishin) by pinfall after a spinning spinebuster at 6:05 **another good win for the "grungy" Radford. After the bout the Russian took his anger out on his valet by slapping her and then choking her. This brought Radford back to the ring to make the save, and apparently create a connection between himself and the Russian femme fatale.
Bout #4 #1 Contenders Match Tami Kim defeated Mistress Gloom (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by pinfall after a superkick at 5:54 **Bockwinkel was stone cold silent in the corner, hardly moving a muscle while observing the match. Even when Gloom spun out of the ring at one point and walked over to him, he just waved her back into the ring. Gloom controlled the first half of the bout but Kim used her speed and some martial arts moves to turn the tables, and knocked her out with her version of the sweet chin music.
Post-Match: Bockwinkel entered the ring and shook hands with Kim and announced that Kim would be joining the Agency. He then gave Gloom a boot, and Kim threw her out of the ring and he announced that Gloom was thus terminated from representation. When Gloom looking monstrous and mad got back into the ring she sent Bock and Kim scrambling to the back.
Hour #2
Bout #5 Non-Title Match Todd Bullett & Robbie Royce defeated Wolfgang Haessler & Untermenschen (/w Emma Bezzler) by pinfall when Bullett pinned Haessler after a double piledriver at 5:03 **huge upset as the smaller team took it to the champs from the opening bell with a high octane offence. The champs just looked stunned after the bout and they better figure it out because you know that Bullett & Royce just earned themselves a title shot.
Bout #6 Stan Baker (/w Nick Bockwinkel) defeated Jesse Hennig by pinfall after a heart punch at 9:31 **a bit surprising that Baker would be able to beat his former partner in such a deciding fashion. Bockwinkel did help turn the tables near the end by jumping on the apron to distract the ref which allowed Baker to nail a low blow on Hennig.
Main Event RCW Heavyweight Title Match Greg Valentine defeated Lewis O'Day by pinfall after an elbowdrop from the second buckle at 11:46 [Greg Valentine retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] **the angry Irishman gave the champ a good run for his money, but although he seems to have a firm grasp on the TV title he has not been able to step up and beat the Heavyweight champ. Valentine continues to look calm, experienced, and dominant as the champ.

River City Wrestling #617 June 29, 1996 Winnipeg, Manitoba
Hour #1
Opening Bout Bermuda Triangle Match - All 3 Men Are Legal David Jericho defeated Vance Nevada and Mike Wildside by pinfall when Jericho pinned Nevada after a shooting star press at 8:07 **fast pace match to open the show with three guys near the bottom of the rankings right now trying to claw their way back to relevance.
Bout #2 Mistress Gloom defeated Tammy Rief by pinfall after a tombstone piledriver at 5:39 **Gloom coming off a loss to Kim, and Rief coming off a win against Nikita locked up and with Gloom's big win the momentum of their individual careers reverses. Also, much like Manny Silva, it became clear that although Gloom was kicked out of The Agency she was not going to be taking a shower in the fan favourite dressing room after the bout.
Bout #3 Mixed Handi-Cap Match (Loser - Whomever gets pinned or submits - Has to leave RCW) Rad Radford & Nikita Nikolishin defeated the Black Russian by pinfall when Nikita pinned Black Russian after a running forearm smash at 6:45 **Radford and Nikita seem to be a thing now, and Nikita has fully embraced the RCW fan base. The Black Russian's run in RCW looks to be over, and it was for the most part unimpressive. Radford set up the Russian and encouraged Nikita to take the tag in and finish him off.
Bout #4 Lewis O'Day & Manny Silva and Jesse Hennig & Keywon Grant battled to a no-contest at 5:13 **strange pairings in this one, but four accomplished singles wrestlers locked up. This match soon lost any semblance of civility and with all four men participating in carnage outside the ring it was thrown out.
Hour #2
Bout #5 North American Women's Title Match Emma Bezzlerr defeated Tami Kim (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by disqualification for outside interference at 7:11 [Emma Bezzlerr retained the North American Women's Title] **first time in a while since Bezzlerr was on the receiving end for most of a match. Kim's wrestling skill's have progressed very fast as she must be dedicating herself to learning the craft. However as Bezzlerr was making a comeback Bockwinkel managed to reach in and trip up the champ to take that advantage away. That was missed by the ref, but not by Mistress Gloom who came running from the back and attacked Bock. The manager of Kim tried to escape by sliding into the ring but he collided with Bezzlerr so the ref called for the DQ. After the bout Gloom, Bezzlerr, and Kim ended up in a three way battle inside the ring.
Bout #6 RCW Tag Team Title Match Wolfgang Haessler & Untermenschen defeated Todd Bullett & Robbie Royce by pinfall when Untermenschen pinned Bullett after a release powerbomb at 9:44 [Haessler & Untermenschen retained the RCW Tag Team Titles] **Bullet and Royce maintained their momentum from their non-title win last week and controlled large portions of this bout, including some nice double teams. Probably because of her match just previous, and also maybe because Haessler has taken over control of the German contingent, Emma Bezzlerr was not at ringside for this bout. Bullett and Royce went for their double dropkick but Haessler ran across and speared Royce, while Untermenschen was able to just swat away the feet of Bullet. The monster then hit his finisher and the match was over.
Main Event RCW Heavyweight Title Match Greg Valentine defeated Stan Baker (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by disqualification for outside interference at 7:30 [Greg Valentine retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] **Baker was in control early but Valentine battled back and took over the match. He got two near falls after elbow drops from the second buckle. Bockwinkel tried to distract him but Valentine ran Bock head first into the ringpost. Valentine and Baker traded kicks and punches, then Valentine took him down with a double leg, worked over the leg, and put on the figure-four. Baker looked ready to submit when Waylon Mercy hit the ring and started to attack Valentine. Mercy gave Valentine a beat down until the good guys came from the dressing room to break it up.
