River City Wrestling #605
April 20, 1996
Winnipeg, Manitoba
Hour #1
Opening Bout
Catherine Nolan & Kari Pelletier defeated Nikki Milne & Jen Lyons by pinfall when Pelletier pinned Lyons after a double team bulldog at 5:58
**kind of a rematch from February's ladies only card. The first time any of these 4 have competed on the regular circuit.
Bout #2
Mike Wildside & David Jericho defeated Robbie Royce & Chi Chi Cruz by pinfall when Jericho pinned Royce after a Hurrincanrana at 7:31
**tonight's card has an intentional focus on tag team action. This match pitted four guys from the fan favorite locker room, so as you can imagine it was up tempo and hard fought. It also turned out to be a bit of a coming out party for David Jericho who had a great match and stole the show.
Bout #3
#1 Contenders Match for the TV Title
Keywon Grant defeated Repo Man by pinfall after a superplex at 6:05
**a minor upset as even though Grant is a former champion he seemed to be a guy on the way down while Repo Man was the experienced "big" name on the way up. Grant will get another shot at taking back the title he lost to Lewis O'Day.
Bout #4
North American Women's Title
Emma Bezzlerr defeated Julie Fulkerson by submission to the Boston crab at 7:56
[Emma Bezzlerr retained the North American Women's Title]
**Fulkerson also makes the transition for this card from the ladies only cards to the normal roster. She gave a good showing but turned out to be too much sizzle, not enough steak, to beat the fire hydrant like German Bezzlerr.
Post-Match:
Nick Bockwinkel comes out and congratulates Emma Bezzlerr on her big win. He asks where AC Crual and the Actuary are, and the women's champ says they have gone back to Germany with their tails between their legs. So Bock says that she is the most dominant woman in RCW, and as such she has earned a spot in the exclusive Nick Bockwinkel Talent Agency (The "Agency"). If she agrees she would join Manny Silva, Jesse Hennig, and Stan Baker as the most dominant force in professional wrestling. And with her country men gone she could use the backup. Bezzlerr says she will think about it. Bock seems annoyed and says go ahead think about it, but don't take too long as there are other fish in the sea, and accidents do happen.
Hour #2
Bout #5
RCW Tag Team Title Match
Man Mountain Rock & Hakushi defeated Dennis Cale & Hank Armstrong by pinfall when Hakushi pinned Cale after a handspring moonsault at 9:19
[Man Mountain Rock & Hakuhsi retained the RCW Tag Team Titles]
**solid win for the tag champs who continue to roll along, putting the challengers from South Africa in the rear view mirror.
Main Event
8-Man Elimination Tag Team Bout
Greg Valentine, Wahoo McDaniel, Tom Zenk, Stan Lane vs The Agency: Manny Silva, Jesse Hennig, Stan Baker, Nick Bockwinkel
**Big return for Stan Lane after being dumped by Bockwinkel for failing to win the belt from Greg Valentine, and then being called a loser.
[Nick Bockwinkel eliminated by countout at 0:27]
**instead of being forced to participate in this bout Bock decided to take the easy way out and take a 10 count. He then took up his usual corner managerial spot.
[Tom Zenk eliminated by Jesse Hennig after a running necksnap at 4:02]
[Manny Silva eliminated by disqualification for using a foreign object at 7:36]
[Wahoo McDaniel eliminated by pinfall by Stan Baker after a heartpunch at 10:18]
[Jesse Hennig eliminated by pinfall by Greg Valentine after a second rope elbowdrop at 13:30]
[Stan Baker eliminated by pinfall by Stan Lane after a superkick at 16:21]
Greg Valentine, Wahoo McDaniel, Tom Zenk, Stan Lane defeated The Agency: Manny Silva, Jesse Hennig, Stan Baker, Nick Bockwinkel at 16:21
[Greg Valentine and Stan Lane final survivors]
