River City Wrestling #590 November 4, 1995 Winnipeg, Manitoba
Opening Bout Chi Chi Cruz defeated Vance Nevada by submission to the figure-four leglock at 9:22 **decent opening match
Bout #2 Giant Warrior defeated Mike Wildside by pinfall after a chokeslam at 3:32 **this match was supposed to be Warrior against Phillip Navarre, but Wildside subbed in. After the short bout Warrior continued to punish Wildside with a powerbomb and then another chokeslam. Navarre emerged, his head wrapped in a blood soaked bandage, and chased Warrior out of the ring. On the mic he told the crowd that earlier in the night the Warrior attacked him backstage knocking him out and he wasn't allowed by the doctor to take the bout. But when he saw him beating on Wildside he had to intervene. He wants his bout next card. It should also be noted that Cory Everson was nowhere to be found tonight after being taken off on a stretcher last week.
Bout #3 Steve Keirn & Mike Graham defeated Jesse Hennig & Stan Baker by disqualification at 10:58 **Keirn makes his return to RCW, and maybe not known to the RCW fans this was the reunion of one of the best Southern teams of the 80's. It was also the big return from injury of Stan Baker as he joins his former tag partner Jesse Hennig; with their sites undoubtedly on regaining their vacated tag titles. Keirn and Graham had great teamwork and looked like they were going to win this bout, so when Graham had Hennig in the sleeperhold Baker came in the ring and nailed him from behind, then knocked Keirn off the ring apron. They then continued to beat on Graham 2 on 1 and Keirn came in but the ref called for the DQ.
Bout #4 Rick Martel defeated Ben Bassarab by countout at 8:26 **solid match with two guys who can really wrestle. The match was just picking up steam when Bassarab was thrown outside the ring, and before he could get back in Jesse Hennig came out and distracted the ref and Bassarab while Stan Baker clotheslined Bassarab from behind, getting him counted out.
Bout #5 North American Women's Title Match Pamela Principal defeated Jeanne Basone by pinfall after a diving elbowdrop at 8:19 [Pamela Principal retained the North American Women's Title] **Principal controlled early, Basone (the former Hollywood of GLOW fame) though then took over most of the last 6 minutes of the bout, trying to regain her title. But when Principal tried to get back inside the ring the challenger grabbed her by the hair and tried to smash her head off the top of the ringpost. Principal though blocked it, punched her twice while holding onto her hair, hotshot her throat across the top strand, climbed to the top rope and came off with an elbow ala Randy Savage.
Bout #6 RCW Heritage Title Match Manny Silva defeated Nick Mercury by pinfall after a wheelbarrow suplex at 10:56 [Manny Silva Won the RCW Heritage Title] **Mercury started strong but Silva was unusually patient. The mad Hawaiian also showed that he had a powerful ground and pound game when willing to stick to it. By the eight minute mark he had Mercury pretty much out of gas. He then made a mistake though arguing with the ref about his ability to use a chokehold, and Mercury caught him turning around with a kick to the gut and then an inverted neckbreaker. A couple suplexes later he went for his swinging neckbreaker finisher but Silva countered it by turning through it and nailing the champ with a DDT. He then hit his finisher and we have a new champion! An almost 8 month title reign by Mercury has come to an end. Post-Match: In case anyone thought Silva would be happy to be the champ and get his title they would be mistook as the Baron would say. As Mercury left dejected, walking up the aisle he was attacked from behind by Silva who nailed him in the back of the head with the title belt. He then hit him several more times, whipping him with the belt.
Bout #7 RCW Tag Team Title Match Destruction Crew: Mike Enos & Wayne Bloom defeated Thrillseekers: Chris Jericho & Lance Storm by pinfall when Enos pinned Storm after a stuffed piledriver at 9:11 [Destruction Crew retained the RCW Tag Team Titles] **always a good match between these two teams. First thing to note was no Cory Everson at ringside, but that didn't bother the experienced champs. Hard fought match but in the end the champs managed to eject Jericho and then double teamed Storm. After the victory Storm wasn't getting up, but when Jericho went to see him he was attacked from behind by the champs. The champs then gave Jericho the stuffed piledriver too. They then began to pull up Storm, but before they could set him up Steve Keirn & Mike Graham hit the ring to send the champs scurrying under the rock they came from. Keirn and Graham want a crack at the champs next time!
Post-Match: An interesting tidbit. As Keirn and Graham walked to the back, Stan Lane (now the challenger) was coming up the aisle for his next match. The two former tag partners Keirn and Lane passed each other. Keirn stopped Lane who looked like he was locked and loaded for the next bout, but after realizing who it was the two embraced and chatted for a minute.
Main Event RCW Heavyweight Title Match Jim Brunzell defeated Stan Lane by pinfall after a flying dropkick at 19:01 [Jim Brunzell retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] **this was Stan Lane's automatic rematch after dropping the title to Brunzell. The two actually started off tentative with some hand fighting and tests of strength. This led to several step through, go behinds, etc. Finally Lane lost patience and slapped the champ across the face, and we were off. Brunzell nailed Lane twice by whipping him off the ropes and hitting him with a side elbow. Monkey flip into the corner, a pair of biels, but Lane kicked him in the face from the mat, took his legs out from under him and put the champ into a side headlock. The advantage changed a couple more times like this, then Brunzell catapulted Lane hard enough into the corner to have him flip over to the floor below. When Lane started to play games and refusing to stay in the ring the champ made the mistake of going after him. Lane elbowed him in the throat and went to work back inside the ring. Lane worked him over for a couple minutes but when he went for a flying crossbody block, both went for the same move and they collided. Both men were beat now and they went for a series of cradles, rolls, and backsliides to no avail. Brunzell put the challenger in a leglock, and turned it over into a single leg Boston. Lane got to the ropes, then followed up with a scoop slam, then a fireman's carry into a slam for a 2 count. The fans were on their feet as the pace picked up again. Brunzell tried to unleash a standing dropkick but Lane moved deftly out of the way. He nailed a spinebuster slam, then went for his superkick finisher but Brunzell moved out of the way. Lane though grabbed the advantage back, worked over Brunzell, then made another mistake coming off the top rope for a diving elbowdrop that the champ rolled out of the way from. Now Brunzell went for a backbody drop but Lane saw it coming and countered with a high knee, except Brunzell saw that coming and moved enough so that Lane got nothing but air and landed hard on his back. The champ stomped a knee, and then turned him over for a figure-four. Lane got to the corner for a break, then exploded out of the corner with a clothesline, worked over the knee himself, and put Brunzell in a figure-four his idol and mentor Ric Flair would have been proud of. Brunzell though got to the ropes for a break, and we were back to square one. Center of the ring the two men exchanged chops versus forearms. Brunzell sent Lane to the ropes, they did a crisscross segment, and it ended with Brunzell nailing a flying headscissors. Lane got up, ate a flying dropkick, then a second, cover, 1, 2, 3!! Great match.
Post-Match: Stan Lane surprised everyone by offering a handshake, which Brunzell eventually, carefully accepted.

River City Wrestling #591 November 18, 1995 Winnipeg, Manitoba
Opening Bout A.C. Crual & The Actuary (/w Emma Bezzlerr) defeated Robbie Royce & Mike Wildside by pinfall when the Actuary pinned Wildside after a side suplex at 7:30 **premiere of the German team with their valet/partner Bezzlerr. AC Crual is more the mouthpiece at around 6'0 240 lbs, while the Actuary is a ghostly looking dude at around 6'5 260 lbs. They worked a slow, methodical style and quickly wore down their over matched opponents.
Bout #2 Six-Man Tag Match Jesse Hennig, Larry Hennig, & Stan Baker defeated Ben Bassarab, Chi Chi Cruz, & Eric Freedom when Baker pinned Cruz after the heartpunch at 9:53 **solid match with all six men looking good. In the end it was simply a case of being able to double team Cruz and then use Baker's devastating finisher he learned from his uncle Ox Baker.
Bout #3 Pamela Principal & April Cummings defeated Emma Bezzlerr & Cory Everson by pinfall when Cummings pinned Everson after a slingshot suplex at 8:15 **point of this match is that neither Bezzlerr or Everson dominated in this bout, so an outsider will be brought in to get a title shot at the Anniversary show.
Bout #4 Keywon Grant & Nick Mercury defeated Manny Silva & Giant Warrior by disqualification at 9:12 **Warrior and Silva put aside their past differences to pursue a common goal of inflicting pain on their opponents. All match they refused to follow referee instruction and flirted with DQ. Finally they simply tossed Grant aside and double teamed Mercury. When Grant tried to get back in the ring they blocked him. After the match the former Heritage champion Mercury had to be removed from the ring on a stretcher after immobilizing his neck.
Bout #5 Phillip Navarre & Jim Brunzell defeated Rick Martel & Stan Lane by pinfall when Brunzell pinned Lane after a flying dropkick at 14:30 **Best match of the night so far with all four men getting a chance to shine, but also all four men taking turns playing Ricky Morton. In the end they sorted out a confusing four way battle with some rope runs and Navarre catching Lane with a flying knee and Brunzell finishing him off with the dropkick.
Main Event RCW Tag Team Title Match Destruction Crew: Mike Enos & Wayne Bloom defeated Steve Keirn & Mike Graham by pinfall when Enos pinned Graham after a stuffed piledriver at 11:21 [Destruction Crew retained the RCW Tag Team Titles] **It actually had the feel of a possible change in belts tonight with the challengers having the momentum, no Cory Everson in sight, and their past history as a dominant team from the south. The challengers started strong, but the champions were always able to answer back with a power move or a double team. In the end the challengers may have been the better team but the champions proved how bad they wanted to retain their titles. After the bout Mike Graham was our second wrestler of the night to be removed on a stretcher with his neck immobilized. As the paramedics and his partner were helping him, Stan Lane also came to the ring to check on it and to be there for his former Fabulous Ones partner.
