River City Wrestling #576
July 1, 1995 Winnipeg, Manitoba **All Ladies Edition** Opening Bout: K.C. Houston defeated Desiree Petersen by pinfall after a running bulldog at 10:56
**solid opening bout between two experienced grapplers who have fought each other many times in RCW, Stampede and other places. Was probably going to have the most "steak" but not sizzle of the night. Bout #2 Emma Bezzlerr defeated Kele Ward by submission to the torture rack at 2:33
**wow, impressive debut for the German powerhouse Bezzlerr who disappointed the crowd by womanhandlng the popular and attractive Ward (two adjectives that could not be used for Bezzlerr). Bout #3 Julie Fulkerson and Mistress Gloom battled to a double countout at 7:00
**Fulkerson was probably the favorite in this one but the rulebreaker Miss bondage herself, Gloom in her second match in RCW controlled more of the match. However in the end the two battled outside the ring and were counted out. Bout #4 Eternity defeated Jackie Moore by pinfall after a chokeslam at 8:09
**Jackie Moore, a former Women's champion was the favourite but was giving up about 8 inches in height and a lot of power to the Nubian Amazonian like Eternity making her debut in RCW. Eternity attacked with forearms, boots, and a couple bodyslams. Moore though made a comeback with a hit and move attack. It looked like Moore would pick up the win, but she came running off the ropes and Eternity caught him in a standing chokehold and then nailed her with a chokeslam for a bit upset win. Bout #5 Tammy Rief & Tami Kim defeated April Cummings & Dana Dodson by pinfall when Kim pinned Dodson after a Doomsday device at 9:52
**solid match. Rief and Kim had fantastic chemistry, taking turns cheating, double teams, and living up to their biker image. In the end they threw Cummings over the top rope and nailed Dodson with a finisher borrowed from the Road Warriors. Bout #6 Dawn Whitham defeated Jeanne Basone by referee's decision at 7:12
**another big upset. Jeanne Basone the former Women's champion and who wrestled as Hollywood in GLOW, was the favourite against Whitham. However, Whitham used her power, and in the end she had Basone in an armbar and seemed to pull Basone's arm out of her socket and the ref called for the bell because of the injury. To her credit Whitham did not try and attack Basone after the decision was rendered. Main EventNorth American Women's Title MatchPamela Principal defeated Cory Everson by disqualification at 14:53
[Pamela Principal retained the North American Women's Title] **Principal started strong by shooting on Everson with a single leg. She kept the bigger challenger on her back and worked over the legs. A half Boston crab though couldn't put Everson away as the tough chick got to the ropes for a break. A full Boston crab followed after a standing surfboard but Everson just showed great power by bridging out of it. Everson then pounded away at the champ, standing above her and pounding her over and over again to the mat. Principal finally pulled the feet out from under the challenger only to be taken down with head scissors. The python like squeeze of the challenger continued for well over a minute before the champ finally popped out and got Everson in a side headlock. Eventually the challenger made it to her feet, tried to push the champ off but Pamela held on. She tried two more times but the squeeze was too tight. So instead Everson took the champ backward with a devastating suplex. When the champ struggled to her feet she was clotheslined up and over the top rope. Everson stopped the champ from getting into the ring once, but the second time the champ pulled her out of the ring and started to hammer away at her with forearm shots and kicks. She then tried to take down Everson with a monkeyflip but the challenger was too strong and powerbombed the champ to the floor. Everson rolled back into the ring to beat the count, then went outside and punished the champ some more before rolling her back inside the ring. Everson put on a full nelson and rag dolled the champ, then followed up with a front chancery, and then a front layout suplex for 1, 2, KICKOUT!! A bearhug followed but Principal managed to elbow her way out of it, then went on a short tear whipping the challenger off the buckles and taking her down with back elbows and hip tosses. She then rolled up the challenger for 1, 2, roll out by the challenger. Principal kicked her in the gut, hooked her in a standing headlock, but Everson scooped the champ up and airplane spun her. She then just started to choke Principal and bang her head off the mat. The referee tried to stop her only to have Everson toss him over the top rope. That of course caused the DQ, but Everson kept choking. Two officials ran in and were also ejected. April Cummings, Dana Dodson, Jackie Moore all came, but so did Dawn Whitham, Tammy Rief, Tami Kim. Soon both dressing rooms were empty and the show ended with one massive brawl!!

River City Wrestling #577 July 8, 1995 Winnipeg, Manitoba
**Tournament for the Vacant RCW Tag Team Titles** **Chi Chi Cruz and Eric Freedom receive a bye into the second round as a result of their countout victory against the former champs Hennig & Baker** Opening Bout Giant Warrior defeated Robbie Royce by pinfall after a running boot at 2:24 **wow, the 7'0 350 lb newcomer made quite the splash in his first match in RCW
Bout #2 Round 1 Match Jesse Hennig & Ben Bassarab defeated Jim Brunzell & Brian Blair when Hennig pinned Blair after a running neck snap at 8:30 **clean bout, except Hennig pushed the envelope a bit. Big upset for their first tag match together against a very experienced team.
Bout #3 Round 1 Destruction Crew: Mike Enos & Wayne Bloom defeated Top Guns: Ricky Rice & Derrick Dukes by pinfall when Enos pinned Dukes after a spiked piledriver at 10:59 **Two former RCW Tag Champions make their return to RCW, and the Crew came out ahead.
Bout #4 Round 1 Thrillseekers: Chris Jericho & Lance Storm defeated Indian Outlaws: Peter Strongbow & Johnny Aztec by submission when Storm submitted Aztec in the Boston crab at 8:14 **This one was the only 1st round match that didn't really seem in doubt.
Bout #5 Special Women's Tag Team Match Pamela Principal & Jeanne Basone defeated Cory Everson & Dawn Whitham by disqualification at 9:05 **Principal and Basone controlled most of the bout, and used their experience to frustrate the bigger and stronger opponents. When they couldn't take it anymore he bad girls just both stayed in the ring and started to beat the hell out of their opponents, ignoring the ref's instructions until they were disqualified.
Bout #6 Semi-Final Chi Chi Cruz & Eric Freedom defeated Ben Bassarab & Jesse Hennig by pinfall when Cruz pinned Bassarab after a powerslam at 10:07 **Hennig and Bassarab controlled most of the bout and looked like they were cruising to victory. But Bassarab telegraphed a diving cross bodyblock and Cruz turned it into a powerslam to pick up the upset victory. Post-Match: Well the expected happened. Hennig was upset at losing and blamed Bassarab, the two got into a pushing match and Hennig nailed him with a knee to the groin and then went to work punishing him. He was saved by the Thrillseekers.
Bout #7 Semi-Final Destruction Crew: Mike Enos & Wayne Bloom defeated The Thrillseekers: Chris Jericho & Lance Storm by pinfall when Enos pinned Jericho after the doomsday device at 12:11 **excellent match between two teams who both looked like championship material. In the end the difference was likely the willingness of the rulebreakers to rulebreak.
Bout #8 Title vs Title - Heavyweight Title vs Heritage Title Stan Lane defeated Nick Mercury by countout at 15:46 [Stan Lane retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] [Nick Mercury retained the RCW Heritage Title] **This one went back and forth and was for the most part pretty clean. Lane leaned on his experience and skill more then short cuts. The mutual respect being shown broke down though at the end when the two brawled outside and Lane managed to back flip Mercury over the steel barrier and into the crowd. He then nailed him with a superkick when Mercury got up while he was standing on the other side of the barrier. Lane then beat the count to pick up the win.
Main Event Tag Team Tournament Final Destruction Crew: Mike Enos & Wayne Bloom defeated Chi Chi Cruz & Eric Freedom by pinfall when Enos pinned Freedom after a Doomsday Device at 11:39 [Destruction Crew won the vacant RCW Tag Team Titles] **Cruz & Freedom did a stick and move early, but soon the bigger Crew took over the match. At times it looked they were toying with their opponents but just seemed content to not take high risks, just wear them down. However, Cruz and Freedom made one final comeback. But then Cory Everson came down to the ring for some reason and jumped on the apron and began to argue with the ref and then with Cruz. Everson even got tangled up with the ref and Cruz. This allowed the Crew to double team and take out Freedom. After the bout Everson celebrated with the now 4 time tag champions who appear to have themselves a new valet or manager. That four wins puts them in sole possession of the most title reigns (only Ben Bassarab & Biff Wellington have 3).

River City Wrestling #578 July 22, 1995 Winnipeg, Manitoba
Opening Bout Chris Jericho defeated Caveman Broda by pinfall after a lionsault at 5:07 **squash match
Bout #2 Lance Storm defeated Vance Nevada by disqualification for use of a foreign object at 6:36 **Storm had to be considered the overwhelming favorite but Nevada held his own. However, in the end the lure of just smacking his opponent over the head with a steel chair proved to be too powerful for Nevada. Jericho had to come out and save his tag partner.
Bout #3 April Cummings defeated Dawn Whitham by pinfall after a springboard bulldog at 5:39 **not much story here. Filler match.
Bout #4 Sgt. Keywon Grant defeated Sean Cassidy by submission to the cobra clutch at 8:18 **blow off match after a Cassidy DQ and a double countout last month. Looks like Grant is moving up, and Cassidy is moving out.
Bout #5 Jesse Hennig defeated Ben Bassarab by pinfall after reversing a diving crossbody block with a handful of tights at 10:41 **after Hennig had attacked Bassarab last card, after their tag team loss, it was no surpise that these two men attacked each other before the opening bell. It should also be noted that they had previously fought in June and battled to a double countout. This was a very intense match but reminiscent of how they lost the tag titles, Bassarab had his finisher turned against him as Hennig rolled through it. However, this time Hennig grabbed a handful of tights to make sure he got the tainted win.
Bout #6 RCW Heritage Title Match Giant Warrior defeated Nick Mercury by countout at 7:30 [Nick Mercury retained the RCW Heritage Title] **Very fast ascension for Giant Warrior, but given his physical tools it's no big surprise. He dominated most of the match and Mercury looked overwhelmed. As if that wasn't enough Cory Everson came down to scout and distracted Mercury. In the end Warrior threw Mercury over the top rope so hard that he knocked him out.
Main Event Six-Person Elimination Match Destruction Crew: Mike Enos & Wayne Bloom & Cory Everson defeated Chi Chi Cruz, Eric Freedom, & Pamela Principal **Mike Enos pinned Pamela Principal after a sidewalk slam at 5:31 **Wayne Bloom pinned Eric Freedom after a stuffed piledriver at 9:07 **Cory Everson pinned Chi Chi Cruz after a powerbomb at 12:38 [Enos, Bloom, & Everson survived] **A very lopsided match. However, the villains got too cocky at the end and continued to beat down Cruz. Frustrated this brought Freedom and Principal back into the ring, both with steel chairs, and they got a measure of revenge by laying out all 3 of their opponents with chair shots. However, they celebrated too long and Giant Warrior came out and caught them from behind. He managed to lay out both Cruz and Freedom with very little problem, and with no weapon. He hesitated though, seemingly not willing to hurt a woman. Principal though kicked him in the groin. She started to hit away at him, with little effect, until Everson nailed her from behind with a steel chair.
