15th Anniversary Spectacular
Opening Bout
Chi Chi Cruz (6'1" 235 lbs. Winnipeg, Manitoba) ("Get The Funk Out" Extreme) vs Diamond Timothy Flowers (6'0" 242 lbs. Fire Island, New York) ("Street Fighting Man" Rolling Stones)
**former tag team partners who can no longer stand the sight of each other. Flowers jumped Cruz before the opening bell, but Cruz expected it and smashed Flowers head off the buckle, took him down with a double leg, and then the two wrestled around on the mat, and spilled outside. They brawled outside, went inside to break the count, then brawled some more outside. Flowers whipped Cruz so hard off the guardrail he flipped upside down. He then crotched Cruz on the guardrail. Back inside Flowers applied a series of wear down holds, then a sidewalk slam. He went for a piledriver but Cruz countered with a back body drop. Cruz went on the offensive with several whips to the buckle, some back elbows, and a springboard bodypress. He went for a second springboard but this time Flowers caught him and power slammed him to the mat for a 2 count. Flowers went with chokes and punches now, until Cruz reversed a whip to the ropes and caught Flowers in the tree of whoa. After several midsection kicks Flowers was freed, but he then took a reverse neckbreaker for a 2 count, then a Texas cloverleaf but managed to get to the ropes. Flowers made one more short comeback but when he tried to scoop up Cruz his former partner floated behind him, took him over with a belly to back suplex, then scooped him up and finished it with a running powerslam.
[Chi Chi Cruz defeated Diamond Timothy Flowers by pinfall after a running powerslam at 9:25]
Bout #2
Pamela Principal (5'6" 135 lbs., Santa Monica, California) ("She Rides Like a Hurricane" Heydey) vs Dirty White Girl (5'4" 122 lbs.Bucksnort, Tennessee) ("Dirty White Boy" Foreigner)
**hair pulling, nail raking, breast punching good times. Lots of action outside the ring to give the fans on all 4 sides a good look at the talent. Not very many redeeming moments in this match. After it settled down a bit, it became apparent that Principal had some actual talent. She tried to finish the match with her schoolgirl rollup, but DWG kicked out. DWG went for a clothesline which Principal ducked, then kicked DWG in the gut, and nailed a chokeslam (which happens to be Dirty White Boy's finisher).
[Pamela Principal defeated Dirty White Girl by pinfall after a chokeslam at 5:14]
Bout #3
Mixed Tag Match - Anyone Who Gets Pinned or Submits Gets Head Shaved
Damien Demento & Tawney England (combined wt. 409 lbs.) ("No One Like You" Scorpions) vs Sean Cassidy & April Cummings (combined wt. 360 lbs. "Talk Dirty To Me" Poison")
**Demento and Cassidy started off with Cassidy gaining control, working a side headlock, and slipping it into a choke. Cummings held Demento in the corner allowing Cassidy to kick away, then back into the side headlock and Cummings went to work with a brainbuster (atomic noogie). Cassidy slammed Demento to the mat with a spinebuster, then hit a standing moonsault for a 2 count. Cassidy locked Demento in a standing front facelock and then out of habit tagged in Cummings. She grabbed onto Demento and nailed a swinging neckbreaker. In the meantime though Tawney England entered the ring to a huge ovation as the hall of famer comes back for one more match. Cassidy and Cummings were confused as England hit a dropkick and then hip tossed Cummings to the middle of the ring, and followed up with a running necksnap. The ref explained to Cassidy that the rules of the mixed tag were women could only fight against women, so a tag effects both teams. England went to work on Cummings for a couple minutes but could not get a pin, and finally the former RCW champion in her own right Cummings, nailed England with a kick to the gut, then did a back somersault to the corner and tagged in Cassidy, which also brought in Demento. This time it was Demento's turn to control things with a couple running clotheslines, a neckbreaker and a powerbomb. Cummings came into the ring to break up the pin. This also brought in England and we had our first 4 person brawl. With England tossed to the side Cummings had Demento tied up for Cassidy. But when Cassidy went for a dropkick Demento pulled Cummings to the front and she took the shot instead. Back inside Demento worked over Cassidy until he was able to make a tag to Cummings. Now it was Cummings turn to control England with chokeholds, boot chokes, a full nelson, and then a Boston crab. England escaped the crab though by getting a tag in. Demento went to work on Cassidy but Cummings rolled into Demento's leg from behind turning the tables. Cassidy was all over the leg of Demento now working it over. On three occasions during this punishment Cummings worked over the leg from her corner, banging it off the apron or wrapping it around the ringpost. Cassidy put on a figure four which looked like it might be the end. Unable to take it anymore though Tawney entered the ring to break it up but was cut off by the referee. This allowed Cummings to enter the ring and start to kick away at the leg of Demento who now looked ready to pass out. Suddenly though Corrie England came into the ring and grabbed Cummings from behind and nailed her with a reverse DDT!, broke up the figure-four, and left the ring. Cassidy tried to reapply the figure-four but Demento kicked him right in the groin. The ref saw it but deemed it an accident. A slow 10 count was applied to both men with both men eventually getting to the corners and making the tag. The women came in and flew at each other, both leaving their feet with a cross body and smacking into each other. England ended up on top and pounded away. She tried to drag up Cummings by the hair but it was countered by Cummings who pulled the pants of England and rolled her up for a 2 count, until England rolled through it with an inside cradle for 1, 2, 3!!
[Demento & England defeated Cassidy & Cummings by pinfall when England pinned Cummings with an inside cradle at 16:41]
Post-Match: Cummings tried to get out of it but the England sisters held back her arms. After Demento demolished Cassidy with a piledriver and then a toss over the top rope, he took the shaver from Tawney and went to work shaving Cummings bald much to the delight of the crowd.
Bout #4
Julie Strain (6'1" 155 lbs., Concord, California) ("Heavy Metal" Sammy Hagar) vs Dawn Whitham (5'5" 175 lbs., Newark, New Jersey) ("Seasons in the Abyss" Slayer)
**Strain's first wrestling bout and Whitham's only had a handful. Also a real contrast in body types as the tall and athletic Strain locks up with the shorter but powerful muscular Whitham. Whitham dominated on collar elbow hookups, and kept slamming Strain with double forearms to the back. Finally Strain fought back after a double leg takedown, and then worked some standing wristlock variations using her reach advantage. Strain controlled a few minutes using mostly restholds, and a couple suplexes. But when she went for a flying crossbody it was countered by Whitham into a powerslam. Whitham went to work on the back with shots to the back in the corner, then a couple rolling suplexes, and then some bearhugs. Strain made a comeback including a reverse Russian legsweep. However during a criss cross segment, Strain had to duck away to prevent colliding with the ref. This allowed Whitham to bulrush her from behind, driving her shoulder first into the ringpost, then followed up with a German suplex and picked up the pin. This is the first victory for a rulebreaker tonight.
[Dawn Whitham defeated Julie Strain by pinfall after a German suplex at 7:48]
Bout #5
Bottle on a Pole Match
The Derelict (6'2" 255 lbs., Skid Row, U.S.A.) ("Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" AC/DC) vs Jesse Hennig (5'10" 220 lbs., Minneapolis, Minnesota) ("Rodeo" Garth Brooks)
**match started with a brawl. The "rulebreaker" Hennig actually tried to make this a wrestling match at times, but the Derelict was more interested in brawling. Hennig used the ropes to his advantage, keeping them between him and his opponent nailing a hotshot, an armbar around the top strand, armbreakers over the turnbuckle etc. When he tried to climb to the top though to retrieve the bottle he was pushed off. Derelict then beat Hennig from pillar to post first outside the ring and then inside. Finally Hennig changed the momentum with an atomic drop, then followed Derelict into the corner with several knifehand chops. He then whipped him across the ring with enough speed that the Derelict hit the buckles, and flipped over and landed down below. Hennig was then climbing to get the bottle but the Derelict got back into the apron so Hennig came off the top with a double axhandle spilling both men to the floor. Hennig controlled the match outside by working over the arm of his opponent. Back inside the ring he laid out the Derelict with a piledriver. Hennig climbed to the top and retrieved the bottle. He was undoubtedly going to nail the Derelict in the head with it, but suddenly the Derelict sat straight up. He got to his feet and attacked Hennig from behind. He lifted Hennig up for a suplex but his arm gave out and Hennig managed to swing the bottle and break it over the Derelict's head. He crashed down on top of his opponent in a shower of glass and got the pin.
[Jesse Hennig defeated The Derelict by pinfall after breaking a bottle over his head at 9:16]
Bout #6
Ben Bassarab & Jim Neidhart (combined wt. 495 lbs.) ("Armageddon" Prism) vs Makhan Singh & Iron Mike Sharpe (combined wt. 682 lbs.) ("Miami Vice Theme" Jan Hammer)
**Neidhart started as a house of fire, and then when the rulebreakers tried to make it a 4 man brawl Neidhart and Bassarab worked as a well oiled machine, even using the assisted double heel kick move. But soon Singh caught Bassarab with a sidewalk slam and the momentum turned. The pace of the match slowed as Singh and Sharpe took turns wearing down Bassarab. This was a very long stretch of playing Ricky Morton with several near tags, a missed tag by the ref, and one time where Neidhart was knocked off the apron so the tag could not be made. His efforts to help Bassarab were stopped by the ref and allowed a double team. Finally Bassarab managed to get through the legs of Singh who then missed with a sitdown splash. The tag was made and Neidhart took care of both of his opponents. After a couple near falls on Singh the tag was made to Sharpe. Neidhart nailed him with a double chop, and two of his trademark moves a discus clothesline and a slingshot splash. Singh came in to make it two on one but Bassarab came in to even the odds. After a 4 man sequence, Bassarab was tossed from the ring, and Singh was holding back the arms of Neidhart as Sharpe climbed to the top rope. Bassarab though got back on the apron and knocked Sharpe off the buckle to the mat. Bassarab then delivered a slingshot dropkick, nailing his own partner but driving them backward. Neidhart landed on top of Singh (back to chest) and the ref counted the 1, 2, 3.
[Bassarab & Neidhart defeated Singh & Sharpe by pinfall when Neidhart pinned Singh at 9:52]
Bout #7
8-Man Elimination Match
Jim Brunzell, Baron von Raschke, Wahoo McDaniel & Derrick Dukes (combined wt. 1,031 lbs.) ("Born to Run" Bruce Springsteen)
vs
Dirty White Boy, Greg Valentine, Grave Digger & Atomic Punk (/w Dirty White Girl) (combined wt. 964 lbs.) ("Dirty White Boy" Foreigner)
Baron von Raschke eliminated for disqualification for abuse of official at 6:43
**everyman got at least one segment in ring. Raschke was fighting with Valentine and it degenerated into an 8 man braw. Unfortunately Raschke nailed the ref with an elbow by accident but the ref was so mad about it he disqualified the commissioner. The ref's eye began to swell shut so he could not continue and an alternate had to be brought into the bout.
Greg Valentine eliminated by pinfall after a flying dropkick by Jim Brunzell at 9:02
**a bit of a surprise here as Valentine was one of the favourites to survive
Dirty White Boy eliminated by disqualification for outside interference at 12:34
**DWG decided to help her man by reaching into the ring and tripping up Dukes, but was caught by the ref and disqualified. At this point for good measure the DWB then turned on the ref giving him a chokeslam. With the ref out that is it for refs, we have gone through both of them. So in an extremely unorthodox move Commissioner Baron von Raschke (who was a participant in this bout) donned the stripe jersey and began to referee. Protesting the two remaining rulebreakers Digger and Punk thought about leaving but decided to return when Raschke threatened them with suspension.
Derrick Dukes eliminated by pinfall after a piledriver from the Grave Digger at 15:56
**After absorbing a couple minutes of punishment the Grave Digger suddenly came back to life and in real quick fashion ended Dukes with a kick to the gut, clothesline and then a piledriver.
Atomic Punk eliminated by pinfall after a tomahawk chop from Wahoo McDaniel at 17:10
**McDaniel's time in the ring has been very limited this bout due to his age and physical condition. Brunzell has been carrying most of the load. Grave Digger to this point has looked pretty unstoppable.
Grave Digger eliminated by pinfall when his shoulders were counted down while in the figure four by Jim Brunzell at 22:35
**took a few minutes of punishment before the good guys could eliminate the formable opponent.
[Jim Brunzell & Wahoo McDaniel survived at 22:35]
Bout #8
North American Women's Title Match
(champion) Bull Nakano (5'7" 201 lbs.) (Land of the Rising Sun) ("In My Darkest Hour" Megadeth) vs Sherri Martel (5'7" 135 lbs. New Orleans, Louisiana) ("Fire Woman" The Cult)
**Martel went right after the champ with some knifehand chops backing her into the corner. Nakano though burst out of the corner with a clothesline, then took Martel down with a powerbomb, and got a nearfall 2 count less than 30 seconds into the bout. Nakano went for another powerbomb but Martel countered by flipping over her, and then gave her 3 straight dropkicks, but could not knock the champ down. Martel then went to work with a hiptoss using a handful of hair. She climbed to the top rope and came off for a missile dropkick, but the champ moved out of the way. Nakano then scooped up Martel and took her down with a Samoan drop, and got another nearfall with a 2 count. Martel tried to trade punches with the champ, but was over powered. Nakano nailed a running legdrop for another 2 count. The champ then worked over Martel with some weardown holds including a front facelock. Martel then ducked away from a running clothesline and nailed Nakano with a spinning heel kick. Martel then worked a sleeperhold that she kept slipping into a choke. Nakano managed to get the break but Martel tossed her out of the ring, then came off the ring apron with a running kneesmash. Back inside Martel went for another sleeper but Nakano countered with a jawbreaker. Nakano then locked on first a Boston crab, then a very painful looking Bull's Angelito (suspending Martel off the ground in a modified double chickenwing). It looked like the champ was in total control but when she went for a corner splash Martel moved out of the way, then as Nakano bounced off the buckle Martel whipped her 180 degrees. The champ seemed to lose her footing and go head first into the ringpost. When she got up her head was busted wide open. Martel went right to work on the head and Nakano was a mess. The champ made one short comeback but even as she beat on the challenger she seemed to be losing steam. She had Martel set up in a standing headlock for a piledriver or powerbomb but just lost her balance and went down to one knee, and then toppled over. The ref checked on her and called for the bell and the doctor.
[Sherri Martel defeated Bull Nakano by referee decision for blood loss at 11:21]
[Sherri Martel Wins the North American Women's Title]
Bout #9
RCW Heritage Title Match
(champion) Jimmy Snuka (5'10" 243 lbs. Suva, Fiji Islands) ("Super Freak" Rick James) vs Jack O'Jugular (6'3" 240 lbs. Tarrytown, New York) ("Godzilla" Blue Oyster Cult)
**Fisticuffs in the middle of the ring to start the bout, in fact the first 3 minutes or so were all punches and kicks with Snuka eventually coming out on top. Snuka worked a series of rest holds followed by a series of knife-hand chops and then a pair of drop kicks before an elbowdrop, a cover, for a 2 count. Back to the restholds, worked over the back, nailed a pair of back breakers, for a 2 count, and then locked on a bear hug. Finally Jugular managed to get to the ropes, duck under, stand on the ring apron, sneak in a cheap shot and then hotshot Snuka's throat over the top rope. Jugular slithered into the ring and used a series of legsweeps to continue to knock Snuka down, let him get back up, and take him back down. Jugular then worked over a rear chinlock, then locked on a crossface chickenwing. After a rope break Jugular went to work with chops, and then a dirty chop to the throat. He followed this up with a single arm DDT, but only got a 1 count. The challenger then threw the champ out of the ring and went after him. The two then brawled in and out of the ring for several sequences. Snuka had the advantage inside the ring with Jugular busted open at around the 16 minute mark. After battering Jugular around for a bit he nailed him with a diving headbutt, covered, and got a 2 count. Back to the top, another diving headbutt, cover, 2 count, foot on the bottom rope. Snuka tried to slam down on the leg of Jugular as it lay on the bottom rope, but the challenger used his other leg to kick Snuka out of the ring. The champ recovered first but Jugular caught him off guard with another chop to the throat, followed by a Samoan drop for a 2 count. Two short arm clotheslines, but when he went for another Samoan slam Snuka slid off and nailed Jugular with an inverted DDT, covered for 1, 2 Kickout. Snuka went to the top for the superfly, but Jugular rolled out of the way, the men got up, back to back, Snuka went for a roll but Jugular countered with a hip toss, then nailed a DDT, pulled the champ up, and nailed an inverted DDT for good measure, covered and got the 3 count!
New champion!
[Jack O'Jugular defeated Jimmy Snuka by pinfall after an inverted DDT at 23:00]
[Jack O'Jugular Wins the RCW Heritage Title]
Bout #10
RCW Tag Team Title Match
(champions) Robbie Royce & Dan Kroffat (combined wt. 451 lbs.) ("Danger on the Tracks" Europe) vs Killer & Psycho: The Texas Hangmen (combined wt. 550 lbs.) ("(Ghost) Riders in the Sky" Johnny Cash)
**The challengers risked DQ before this bout ever started by going after the champions with their bull ropes before the opening bell. It was quickly sorted out and Killer worked over Royce. The Hangmen tagged in and out and used their weight advantage to wear down the smaller Royce. Finally Royce made the hot tag but after a short burst he fell to a double team while Royce was still recovering. Now it was Kroffat's turn to play Ricky Morton. When the champs finally took control it was by using their speed and quick double teams on their breaks. They had Psycho isolated and managed to work in a double back bodydrop, a double dropkick, and a double clothesline that sent him over the top to the ring below. Killer came over to hug his partner, then do the do-si-do and send Killer into the ring instead. The ref though caught the switch but the long delay did the damage as Psycho was able to elbow Royce in the face and then make the tag. Killer worked over Royce with a series of 5 straight bodyslams before working a kneeling surfboard. Royce was finally able to make the tag out, both Hangmen entered the ring, and we ended up with a 4 man brawl. Royce tried to come off the top with a splash but Killer caught him mid-air and was going to slam him to the mat but Kroffat dropkicked his own partner in the back to send them toppling over. Royce hooked the leg, and got the 1, 2, 3!! The ironic twist here was that Killer was not the legal man in the ring but that was not caught by the ref, and even though he realized his mistake after the match was done.
[Robbie Royce & Dan Kroffat defeated the Texas Hangmen by pinfall when Royce pinned Killer at 14:21]
[Robbie Royce & Dan Kroffat retained the RCW Tag Team Titles]
Main Event
RCW Heavyweight Title Match
Harley Tragger (champion) (6'2 255 lbs., Manhattan, Kansas) ("Wanted Dead or Alive" Bon Jovi) vs Stan Lane (6'1 224 lbs., Greensboro, NC) ("Everybody Wants You" Billy Squier)
**Rematch of last year's main event where Lane captured the title from Tragger. Collar elblow hook up and Tragger puts on an arm bar. Repeat that two more times. Frustrated Lane takes a wild swing but Tragger takes the armbar down to the mat. The champ works over the arm of Lane who eventually makes it to the ropes and leaves the ring to get some added recovery time. Back inside Lane attacks with kicks and punches, but Tragger fired right back, knocking Lane all the way across the ring and back. Finally Lane takes another powder outside the ring. This time Tragger went after him and the two brawled outside the ring. Back inside though Lane managed to nail Tragger with a nasty kick to the leg. Lane for the first time took away the size advantage of Tragger and worked the leg of the champ, stomping at it and twisting it. Lane tried for a figure four but was kicked off. A few punches later and he nailed a belly to back suplex for a 2 count. Lane worked an abdominal stretch but after getting to the ropes Tragger tossed him into the corner and laid in 3 straight back elbows. He then hiptossed him out of the corner and nailed a low dropkick to his back. Tragger turned to kicks and stomps and then a pair of lariats. Tragger then nailed a reverse Russian legsweep for a 2 count. Tragger then went to a series of rest holds, reverse chin lock, side armbar, abdominal stretch. This was followed by another series of brawls outside the ring. We were just past 10 minutes of the bout at this point.
Lane took over the match and dominated the champ for a while. A gutwrench suplex, pair of dropkicks, front facelock which he worked down to a choke, knife edge chops, a pair of back bodydrops, a flying crossbody block, and then a shinbreaker and he put on the figure four. Somehow the champ edged back to the ropes and grabbed on for a break. Lane then went with a vicious attack of stomps, choke by standing on his throat, stomps on the solar plexes, and then threw him out of the ring. Lane then unleashed a dive between the ropes attempting to splash on Tragger outside the ring. However, Tragger pretty much caught Lane mid-air and both men went down. Back inside the two traded punches and kicks with Tragger eventually winning by climbing the second buckle for leverage. But Lane nailed Tragger with a headbutt to the groin, then took him out with an inverted atomic drop, followed by a flying clothesline. Lane applied the figure-four for a second time, rope break, and then a third time, rope break.
We were past the 20 minute mark at this point and both men were spending a great deal of time with their hands on their knees trying to take in air.
Lane tried for a superkick finisher but Tragger blocked it, took Lane down with a spinning leg hold, turned him over and applied a single leg Boston crab. Lane managed to get to the ropes but Tragger went right after the back, with forearms, knees, and then a pair of back breakers. After a bearhug he nailed Lane with two belly to belly suplexes, got a 2 count, and then applied a full Boston crab. Again Lane managed to get to the ropes. Tragger went to the top buckle, but Lane managed to run into the corner and knock Tragger down to the mat. Lane scoop slammed the champ to the mat, and reminiscent of last year's match nailed him with a series of 4 spinning elbow drops. But when he tried to come off the top buckle with a diving elbowdrop Tragger rolled out of the way. Lane crashed to the mat and Tragger locked on a Watanabe armlock that looked to end the bout. Lane though managed to swing his legs around and reach the ropes. It was only short contact with the ropes though so Tragger was confused and distracted himself asking the ref for clarification. Lane played posse holding his arm. When Tragger closed in from behind Lane fed him a back elbow drop, tried for a superkick finisher but Tragger ducked away, but Lane ducked away from his clothesline attempt and then took the champ down with a spinebuster slam. When the champ got up Lane nailed him with a superkick and covered, for 1, 2, 3!! History repeats itself and we have a new Champion!!
[Stan Lane defeated Harley Tragger by pinfall after a Superkick at 28:28]
