River City Wrestling #551
August 13, 1994
Brandon, MB
RCW leaves the city limits once again a couple hours west to Brandon, Manitoba
Opening Bout
Jim Brunzell defeated Green Demon by pinfall after a flying dropkick at 5:30
**apparently another member of the Demon family, everyone's favorite denizens of parts unknown.
Bout #2
Makhan Singh defeated Caveman Broda by pinfall after a splash at 2:53
**Singh makes an unpopular return to RCW
Bout #3
Jesse Hennig defeated Judge Dread by pinfall after a running somersault neckbreaker at 7:18
**The younger brother of Curt Hennig, son of Larry the Axe, started the match by controlling and grounding his bigger opponent working some wristlocks and front facelock. Dread though made a comeback using his size. That ended when he ran into a back elbow. Hennig then delivered a springboard forearm smash, followed by a German suplex then his finisher. Hennig has a Country look to him but is very brash and arrogant like his brother.
Bout #4
Robbie Royce & Dan Kroffat defeated Chi Chi Cruz & Timothy Flowers by pinfall when Kroffat pinned Flowers after a superkick at 11:40
**hard fought even match. Great teamwork from Royce & Kroffat although it was their first time teaming together. This likely makes them the new #1 contenders for a tag title shot.
Bout #5
Six-Man Tag Match
Rocky & Bob Dellaserra & Richard Charland defeated Destruction Crew: Mike Enos & Wayne Bloom & Jon Paul Demans by disqualification for abuse of official at 12:46
**two rulebreaker teams, pretty even between the Brothers and the Crew. The difference in the match though was Richard Charland may have been the best in the ring while Demans was clearly the worst. In the end Demans clotheslined the ref from behind to stop his team from losing clean. The Quebec crew though proceeded to beat the Crew and Demans around the ring, and chase them to the back.
Bout #6
RCW Heritage Title Match
Vampiro Canadienese and Harley Tragger battled to a no-contest at 14:21
[Vampiro Canadienese retained the RCW Heritage Title]
**this bout could have gone either way, although Vampiro controlled more of the match by cheating including chokeholds and a length of tape he used to choke Tragger. In the end the ring could not contain these two men and the match was thrown out.
Main Event
RCW Heavyweight Title Match
Greg Valentine defeated Ben Bassarab by pinfall after an elbowsmash at 12:32
[Greg Valentine retained the RCW Heavyweight Title]
**Valentine caught Bassarab with a kick to the lower midsection as the bell rang. He then tied him up in the corner, punishing him, choking him while arguing with the ref, and laying in many chops and forearms. But when he tried to whip the challenger out of the corner Bassarab dug in his heels, twice, then exploded out with a clothesline. Bassarab laid in the boots to the champ, then slinshot him into the corner. The challenger then took the champ to the ground and worked an armbar and then a crossface. The champ though fought back with knife edge chops, a series of elbow drops, a belly to back suplex, and then a piledriver for a 2 count. The match went back and forth in this matter, each pressing, each getting 2 counts. On Bassarab's 4th rally he made a big mistake though, coming off the top for a crossbody. Valentine saw it coming and caught Bassarab between the eyes with an elbow, knocking him out cold and getting the pin.
