River City Wrestling #508
November 7, 1992
Winnipeg, Manitoba
Opening Bout:
J.W. Storm defeated Joe Gauthier by pinfall after a neckbreaker drop at 4:30
-squash match
Bout #2:
Steve Stryker defeated Knight Rider by pinfall after a pumphandle slam at 8:11
-good competitive match, but filled with rest holds and "psychology" to stretch it out
Bout #3
Vendetta defeated Todd Tork by pinfall after a DDT at 2:54
-squash match, with Todd Tork making his debut (5'7 170 lbs Winnipeg).
-however the big thing was when Mad Dog Manny Silva made his return to RCW in style by entering the ring and attacking Vendetta from behind. Two former champions went at it, but Silva got the better of Vendetta because of the early jump. Tork joined in, so Silva held Vendetta's arms, Tork wound up...and Vendetta moved at the last second, and Tork nailed Silva. Vendetta then took out Tork with a clothesline, but when he turned around Silva nailed him with a clothesline of his own, and followed it with a wheelbarrow suplex, before leaving the ring.
Bout #4
Harley Tragger pinned "Dirty White Boy" Barry Horowitz by pinfall after a powerbomb at 5:40
-For the second straight card since turning "Dirty", Horowitz got his butt handed to him. He looked like he was waiting for someone, presumably Dirty White Boy, to come down to the ring, but no one ever did.
Bout #5
#1 Contenders Match - Winner Gets Title Shot at Anniversary Show
Lightning Kid & Mike Lozansky defeated Kid Gallahad & Brett Como by pinfall when Lightning Kid pinned Brett Como after a spinning heel kick at 8:45
-Kid & Lozansky have a lot of chemistry, and Lozansky of course just came off a decent stretch as the tag champs with Bob Orton.
Bout #6
Baron von Raschke & Jim Brunzell defeated Rogue & Samoan Hitman by pinfall when Brunzell pinned Samoan after a flying dropkick at 7:23
-Premiere for Samoan Hitman, presumably brought in by Rogue as a mystery partner. Hitman looked and was built like a typical Samoan, like Sika or Afa but a bit smaller in stature (Indy sized). Rogue did quite well but seemed also content to stay away from Raschke and let Samoan take most of the first team reps. One spot was when Raschke put the dreaded claw on the Samoan but it had little effect on the thick coconut skull of the Polynesian. However, one of the commissioner's patented dropkicks to the jaw was enough to get the win.
Bout #7
Nick Bockwinkel & Soultaker defeated Bob Orton Jr & Ben Bassarab by countout when Orton was counted out of the ring at 9:49
-lots of bad blood between the participants as Bassarab is a former Bockwinkel Talent Agency client. Bassarab acquitted himself quite well against Soultaker and he and Orton controlled most of the match with Bockwinkel not wanting to participate much. The end came when Orton had Soultaker set up for a piledriver, but Bockwinkel reached into the ring, grabbed the tights of Orton and pulled him backward to break the hold. Orton went after Bockwinkel, punching him off the apron, and then beating him from pillar to post outside the ring. Unfortunately for the good guys Orton was the legal man and Bockwinkel was not, so Orton was counted out.
Main Event
RCW Heavyweight Title Match
Dirty White Boy defeated Jerry Lynn by pinfall after a chokeslam at 11:47
[Dirty White Boy retained the RCW Heavyweight Title]
-DWB attacked Lynn before the bell could sound, so Lynn wrestled, or more like took punishment for the first 3 minutes or so while still wearing his warm up jacket. Finally Lynn made the hot comeback with fists o' plenty, and off came the warm up jacket which he literally tried to shove down the champ's throat. Lynn poured it on with a pair of atomic drops, a slingshot backelbow, a Northern lights suplex, and a piledriver, but could not get the win. DWB made a short comeback thanks to a fireman's carry into a slam. However, when Lynn fought back and took over the match again, Barry Horowitz came down to the apron to distract Lynn, but before he could have any real effect Harley Tragger came down and dragged him off the apron and beat him to the back. Lynn poured it on once again with a pair of running legdrops, a vertical suplex, and a splash off the top rope which only yielded a two count. Lynn nailed a springboard dropkick and got the 1, 2, 3. Lynn celebrated but Lane noticed DWB's foot over the bottom rope and has to tell Lynn the bad news. DWB of course seizes the opportunity to knee Lynn in the back and drive him into the buckle. He followed up with a hotshot and then the chokeslam and picked up the victory.
Lynn was very frustrated following the match but Commissioner Jim Brunzell came down to announce that Lynn deserved another title shot because of the mix-up and will get it at the anniversary show, and to avoid any further bad luck, it will be best 2 out of 3 falls. Brunzell also announced the next 4 entrants into the Women's battle royale, Ashley Nicole, Beverlee Hills, April Cummings, and a newcomer to RCW, Molly McShane. Also, based on what happened tonight Mad Dog Manny Silva will face Vendetta at the big show!

Opening Bout
Dumas Walker defeated Dean Ducharme by submission to the Boston Crab at 6:19
-premiere of two curtain jerkers
Bout #2
J.W. Storm defeated Brett Como by pinfall after a neckbreaker drop at 3:37
-surprisingly quick outing for Storm
Bout #3
Kid Gallahad defeated Steve Stryker by pinfall after a missile dropkick at 7:05
-Stryker had his moments but Gallahad is more of a mid-carder while Stryker is a prelim guy. Thus ends Stryker's mini-run.
Bout #4
Todd Tork defeated Manny Silva by disqualification for choking at 1:52
-Silva demanded this match because of the way last card Tork ended up hitting Silva when Vendetta moved out of the way. Silva didn't wait for the opening bout and flirted with disqualification for the entire short match. Finally Silva used his trademark move of wrapping the top two ropes around the neck of his opponent and choking him, even hanging him, feet dangling outside the ring. This caused him to be disqualified by referee Buddy Lane, but still Silva continued. Vendetta came to make the save, but the first thing he did was go to the aid of Tork which left him open to being blind sided by Silva. The mad Hawaiian laid in a beat down on Vendetta which will just make their match at the Anniversary show that much more anticipated.
Bout #5
Lightning Kid defeated Sebastien Rikard by pinfall after a spinning heel kick at 6:30
-The tag title match-up for the Anniversary show is previewed here with two singles matches. Kid did his part beating Rikard despite being more on the receiving end then the giving end, but nailed his finisher out of the blue.
Bout #6
Archangel defeated Mike Lozansky by pinfall after a full nelson slam at 9:22
-very even match-up in the other half of the tag team preview. Lozansky made a mistake telegraphing a flying cross body block which Archangel turned into a powerslam, then hit his finisher to even things up between the two teams.
Bout #7
Rogue defeated Ben Bassarab by pinfall after an inverted DDT at 13:38
-fantastic match between two guys who have important career matches coming up at the anniversary show. Both men took turns with long advantages, holding the edge for 5 minutes or so each. In the end Rogue rolled out of the way of a diving headbutt, then hit his finisher to pick up a big win.
Bout #8
Jerry Lynn & Harley Tragger defeated Dirty White Boy & Barry Horowitz by submission when Lynn submitted Horowitz with the Gory special at 7:42
-Horowitz loved being in the main event, but was obviously the weak link in this match.
Bout #9
RCW Heritage Title Match
Baron von Raschke defeated Samoan Hitman by pinfall after an inverted DDT at 6:27
[Baron von Raschke retained the RCW Heritage Title]
-Raschke controlled early, but the Samoan made a strong comeback. Raschke though was tough and fought back, but when he locked in the clawhold, again the Samoan with his thick head managed to get to the ropes for the break. Raschke was stunned and this allowed the Samoan to gain back control of the match. However, at this point Rogue came down to ringside, but this distracted the Samoan and referee Jurgen Hermann. That was all the advantage the Baron needed to take back control, and then pointing at his next opponent Rogue, he nailed the Samoan Hitman with Rogue's finisher the inverted DDT.
After the bout Rogue looked like he was going to enter the ring and do battle but decided instead to take the easy way out. Seemed like Rogue may have purposely sabotaged the Samoan's title shot to preserve his own at the Anniversary show.
Main Event
Soultaker (/w Nick Bockwinkel) defeated Cowboy Bob Orton Jr. by pinfall after a running big boot at 9:25
-hard hitting, slobberknocker, but even if he is older and smaller then his opponent Orton is backroads tough and held his own. But of course Bockwinkel played cat and mouse and drove Orton to distraction. Finally as he stuck his head through the ropes Soultaker took him out with a legdrop across the middle rope. A German suplex, inverted atomic drop, and then a running big boot got the rest of the job done.
After the bout Bockwinkel rolled into the ring and set up Orton for a piledriver. Orton blocked it, so Soultaker aided by pulling up on the legs of Orton...until Ben Bassarab ran into the ring and clotheslined first Soultaker, then Bockwinkel. A 4 man brawl ensued to end the night.
