River City Wrestling #501
August 1, 1992
Winnipeg, Manitoba
Opening Bout
Emerald Dragon defeated Alleycat Anderson by submission to the STF at 6:43
-solid outing for the masked technician.
Bout #2
Sebastien Rikard & Archangel defeated Paul Youngbear & Portugese Manowar by submission when Archangel made Manowar submit to the full nelson at 5:25
-new tag team of Rikard and Archangel looked impressive, the brains and the brawn.
Bout #3
J.W. Storm defeated Brett Como after a neckbreaker drop at 8:02
-Storm had a DDQ match last card against Soultaker but the finalization of that battle will have to wait as Soultaker has a tag title shot tonight. Instead Storm had a match agains the fast pace of Brett Como. The two of them put on a good show with Storm coming out on top.
Bout #4
Harley Tragger & Troy Galveston defeated Joe & Paul Gauthier by pinfall when Tragger pinned Joe Gauthier after a powerbomb at 5:08
-premiere of the Gauthier's, Uncle and Nephew from a small town south of Winnipeg, La Broquerie. They turned out to be just another pair of jobbers.
Bout #5
Jerry Lynn defeated Kid Gallahad by pinfall after a spinebuster slam at 9:46
-a terrific match put on by two fast paced and technically sound grapplers. Lynn continues to hang around the top of the contender scene, but Gallahad seems to be on his way down.
Bout #6
Baron von Raschke & Jim Brunzell defeated Nick Bockwinkel & Rogue by submission when Raschke submitted Bockwinkel with the claw at 7:10
-no real explanation why Rogue was teaming with Bockwinkel, except that his henchmen are busy in the next bout. When things didn't go Rogue's way he walked out on his partner, and that left Bockwinkel to the mercy of his opponents.
Bout #7
RCW Tag Team Title Match
Bob Orton Jr & Mike Lozansky defeated Soultaker & Ben Bassarab by pinfall when Lozansky pinned Bassarab after a flying crucifix at 10:26
[Orton & Lozansky retained the RCW Tag Team Titles]
-Soultaker and Bassarab were a bit thrown off their game when Bockwinkel did no show up in their corner after submitting to Raschke in the previous match. They exhibited a lack of teamwork, cohesion, and even double teaming. Still, it was a hard fought even match but in the end Lozansky got the drop on Bassarab ducking under a clothesline attempt and then taking him down with the old Destroyer's finishing move to pick up the duke.
Main Event
RCW Heavyweight Title Match
Dirty White Boy defeated Vendetta by disqualification for use of a foreign object 13:43
[Vendetta retained the RCW Heavyweight Title]
-Vendetta controlled most of the match, at least the first 10 minutes, although DWB did have some advantages. However, the champ couldn't put away DWB and the challenger started to take over the bout thanks to cheating, chokes, and general heelish activity. Finally DWB orchestrated a ref bump so he could retrieve the ring bell and came off the top rope ~waffling~ Vendetta, knocking him out cold. Luckily the shot was seen by Buddy Lane who called for the DQ.
River City Wrestling #502
August 15, 1992
Winnipeg, Manitoba
Opening Bout:
Joe & Paul Gauthier defeated Paul Youngbear & Portugese Manowar by pinfall when Joe pinned Youngbear following a double slingshot suplex at 6:22
-rare tag team match as an opener, but then again its basically two curtain jerker teams
Bout #2
Emerald Dragon defeated Kid Gallahad by submission to the STF at 8:10
-an upset for the newcomer, and two straight wins. Gallahad was a sore loser though and attacked him after the match.
Bout #3
Brett Como and Mike Lozansky battled to a double countout at 10:04
-not really an over heated double countout, just two guys who couldn't afford a clean loss, but both could have used a clean victory.
Bout #4
Jerry Lynn defeated Ben Bassarab (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by disqualification for outside interference (Soultaker) at 6:37
-The match was not completely lost for Bassarab, but when it got in doubt Soultaker came down to the ring, entered, and attacked Lynn. J.W. Storm made the save.
Bout #5
#1 Contenders Match
Sebastien Rikard & Archangel defeated Harley Tragger & Troy Galveston by submission when Rikard submitted Galveston with a figure-four at 8:44
-Galveston has had 2 injuries already this year, and at least one of them was to the leg, so when he submitted fairly easily it might not have raised too many eyebrows. However, Tragger seemed to question him after the match a little more than Galveston appreciated.
Bout #6
Soultaker (/w Nick Bockwinkel) and J.W. Storm battled to a no-contest at 3:45
-Didn't take too long for the tempers to flare in this from their match a month ago and from the Lynn/Bassarab match eariler. And predictably Lynn and Bassarab ended up joining the fray.
Bout #7
North American Women's Title Match
Red Light Street Match
Cynthia Rothrock defeated Beverlee Hills by pinfall after a spinning heel kick at 10:17
[Cynthia Rothrock Won the North American Women's Title]
-the billing was much more hyped then the actual match, the street match part being a no dq - no countout, while the red light part came from the ladies coming out with fishnets etc under their wrestling gear (strictly PG). With the street fight rules Rothrock actually had a level playing field and took the champ apart a piece at a time.
Bout #8
Bob Orton Jr defeated Nick Bockwinkel by pinfall after a piledriver at 8:40
-two old friends, two old enemies locked up. Attempted interference by Soultaker was cut off by Mike Lozansky. in the end Bockwinkel ate crow as well as the canvas mat.
Bout #9
RCW Heritage Title Match
Baron von Raschke (/w Jim Brunzell) defeated Rogue (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by submission to the clawhold at 7:55
[Baron von Raschke retained the RCW Heritage Title Match]
There was almost as much action outside the ring with Jim Brunzell and Nick Bockwinkel as there was inside the ring. Rogue seems very rattled since losing the title and this allegiance with Nick Bockwinkel was short as Rogue waved him off after the match and left alone. Rogue also submitted fairly easy to the clawhold, after about 3 seconds in the hold.

RCW Heavyweight Title Match
Dirty White Boy defeated Vendetta by pinfall after a chokeslam at 16:12
[Dirty White Boy won the RCW Heavyweight Title]
Excellent match. Not a lot of fans or pundits probably believed that Dirty White Boy would walk out of this match with the strap, but that's why they lace 'em up. As expected DWB went dirty right away with a rake to the eyes, and a couple closed fists. But when he tried to smash the champ's head off the top buckle the Haitian stuck his foot against the second buckle to stop the move, then smashed DWB's head into the buckle, turned him around and peppered him with forearm smashes. Vendetta worked over the challenger with a hiptoss, a couple variations of a front facelock, then nailed two dropkicks. DWB took a powder after the second dropkick to regroup outside the ring. DWB played games instead of entering the ring, and then when coming back inside the ring he used a bit of sneaky ingenuity to gain the advantage - he pretended to throw a handful of something into the champ's face, and when Vendetta raised his hands out of instinct to protect his face from nothing but air, DWB nailed him with a shoulder to the gut. He then ran Vendetta's head along the top rope to rope burn him, and when he reached the end he smashed Vendetta's head into the ring post as DWB leapt to the ground below. DWB rolled back inside the ring and went to work on the champ with forearm uppers, a clothesline, a running neck snack, a reverse neckbreaker, pin attempt for a 2 count. DWB slowed the match down with an abdominal stretch, then a side headlock. The challenger lost control of the match again when he telegraphed a back body drop and Vendetta slid under, stopped, and reaching up, punched DWB in the face. He then rolled him up in a cradle for a 2 count. On the break each man in turn ducked a clothesline attempt, Vendetta kicked DWB in the gut, went for a DDT, but DWB pushed him off, Vendetta went for another kick to the gut, DWB grabbed the foot, and Vendetta nailed him with an enzuigiri, covered and got a 2 count. The match now spilled outside the ring where referee Buddy Lane gave them a lot of latitude instead of throwing the match out. Once they got back into the ring nothing had been gained, and they traded punches and kicks, with Vendetta getting the better of it. The champ then chose to work over the lower back of DWB with forearms, then stomps, and then tried for a Boston crab finisher to no avail. The champ changed tactics and nailed a pumphandle slam and a hanging vertical suplex, but again only got the 2 count. Vendetta went to the second buckle, came off with a flying elbowsmash...but DWB rolled out of the way. The challenger kicked away at the legs of the champ, then took him down with a reverse double leg dropping the champ on his face. A leglock allowed a rest before the champ made it to the ropes. Vendetta fought back as they exchanged kicks and punches again. When the champ tried to bulldog DWB coming out of the corner, DWB threw him off, then caught him square with a superkick to the jaw as the champ tried to regain his feet. DWB then picked up the champ and hit his chokeslam finisher...covered, count of 2. Nailed a second chokeslam, covered, count of 2. The challenger then nailed a wheelbarrow suplex, followed it up with a 3rd chokeslam, covered and got the 1, 2, 3!!
New Champion!! Big upset and a short reign for RCW's most popular wrestler.
River City Wrestling #503
August 29, 1992
Winnipeg, Manitoba
"Heartbreakers Edition" filmed for PPV and direct to video release.
Opening Bout
Tiffany Brannigan and Keisha battled to a no-contest at 3:20
-Beverlee Hills came out to interfere, and she was then followed by Cynthia Rothrock. The match was thrown out with all 4 women brawling in the ring. Then out came Hollywood Jeanne Basone, followed by Lady X, etc..until the ring was filled with all the ladies that are on the card tonight. Finally Commissioner Jim Brunzell got on the mic and offered to double the prize for tonight's Battle Royale to $10,000 if the ladies would just restore order. It took another minute but with a bigger payday at stake the girls eventually dispersed.
Bout #2
Corrie & Tawney England defeated Pink Demon & Purple Demon by pinfall when Corrie pinned Purple after a Hairplane spin at 5:51
-easy match for the RCW HoF'er England sisters and hey there's a new color of Demon in addition to Red, Black, and Pink.
Bout #3
Desiree Petersen and K.C. Houston battled to a double disqualification at 8:09
-familiarity breeds contempt, and these two might just know each other a bit too much
Bout #4
Sweet Georgia Brown defeated Nasty Linda Dallas by pinfall after a release German suplex at 10:55
-Nasty did nasty things to Sweet Georgia Brown (Jacqueline Moore) and controlled most of this match. However, the last 2 minutes were SGB being totally fed up and taking to to Dallas with a hyper level of intensity that had the fans eating out of the palm of her hand. In the end she nailed a spear, and then a nice release German suplex for the win.
Bout #5
Terri Power defeated Lady X by pinfall after a snap suplex from the second buckle at 9:36
-another match where the face (Power) had to overcome early punishment from a dominating opponent. The only difference was that Lady X mostly used wear down moves and kept the crowd out of it. Power made her comeback and nailed a hair-pull snapmare, a very loud Savate kick, then her finisher. After the bout however Lady X attacked Power, threw her out of the ring and then smashed her head first into the ringpost, before security came out to restore order.
Bout #6
Hollywood Jeanne Basone defeated Misty Blue Simmes by pinfall after a piledriver at 12:14
-two former RCW women champions met one on one, although the RCW links were not mentioned due to the nature of the PPV audience. This bout went back and forth but heel Basone had to continually cheat to keep even. Finally Basone had to orchestrate a ref bump which allowed her to get a steel chair and ~waffle~ Simmes, then nail her with a piledriver for good measure.

Red Light Street Fight
Cynthia Rothrock defeated Beverlee Hills by pinfall after a spinning heel kick at 11:30
[Cynthia Rothrock retained the North American Women's Title]
-Pretty much the same bout as two weeks earlier, maybe the live crowd caught on, but there were enough subtle differences mostly playing up to the camera for PPV to keep the fans guessing. Prior to the match a promo ran for Rothrock emphasizing her Hollywood screen career as well. Maybe it was that promo causing jealousy, but after the match Hollywood Jeanne Basone came out and attacked Rothrock with her own title belt, leaving her lying.

2. Hollywood Jeanne Basone (Sweet Georgia Brown) 18:32
Winner - Sweet Georgia Brown
-A star is born? Sweet Georgia Brown has the crowd 100% behind this little but powerful 5'3 dynamo from Memphis, Tennessee.
-After the bout as SGB was being given a cheque and Hollywood was still complaining about hair pulling, Cynthia Rothrock came running in from the back, her head bandaged, and she attacked Hollywood from behind. She beat Hollywood around the ring until the former GLOW girl managed to escape and take off. Sweet Georgia Brown and Cynthia Rothrock, both who happen to be 5'3 shared a hug in the middle of the ring, one holding a title belt and the other a cheque, to the applause of the crowd.
