Michael Myers uses the events of a severe thunder and lightning storm to escape from the mental institution that he has been housed in since becoming an adult and being transferred from the youth ward where he was under the guidance of Dr. Sam Loomis; killing two orderlies, a nurse, and 2 security guards along the way. Through a series of flashbacks which buffer the escape, we see Michael as a young boy being bullied including by his sister's friends and boyfriend and having a mental breakdown that causes him to set one of his tormentor's houses on fire. We are introduced to Laurie Strode, her friend Amber Fox and Amber's boyfriend Tommy Doyle. Laurie ropes the other two into helping her decorate the school gym for the Devil's night dance, and sets plans to babysit on Halloween night. Amber promises Laurie they will hang out on Halloween night but that on Devil's night her and Tommy will be doing a live webcast for her internet site; from the haunted house of Haddonfield where Michael Myers killed his Mom. Michael's brother Kerry Myers has an uncomfortable run in with Lindsey Wallace and her kids at the hardware store.
1.02 - "The Night of October 29th, 2016" (Sep 16, 2016) 0.7/3 3.22
Michael makes his way to Haddonfield, stopping at a garage along the way where he kills two mechanics working through the night; he steals some tools to use as weapons, but leaves the cars, heading on foot through the woods instead. We see flashbacks of a young Michael being sent to the mental hospital under the guidance of Dr. Loomis and the psychological terror, drugs, and experiments he underwent from Dr. Loomis. In current day Dr. Sam Loomis is at home and receives a phone call from the Police investigator that Michael has escaped; Dr. Loomis leaves his big but rundown and empty house for Haddonfield to try and stop Michael. Lindsey Wallace gets her children ready for Halloween but no one in her family really seems into the festivities because Lindsey is still haunted by memories of Michael Myers; but her sister Molly is even worse, as death seems to preoccupy her. Reporter Toledo Jones breaks the story of Michael's escape and the possibility that he may return to Haddonfield; despite warnings from Sheriff Brackett that it could cause more harm then good. Amber and Tommy decide to change their plans from doing their webcast on Devil's Night to doing it on Halloween night.
1.03 - "Devil's Night, October 30th, 2016" (Sep 23, 2016) 0.6/3 2.71
It is Devil's night, October 30th and Michael stalks the house where he grew up in; setting his sights on Laurie Strode and Amber Fox. Flashbacks show us one of Michael's infrequent visits back to his home, this one an unsupervised Halloween visit as approved by Dr. Loomis; which ends in tragedy as Michael has a break and stabs his Mother to death with scissors. Dr. Loomis tries to convince Sheriff Brackett that Michael will return to Haddonfield and kill; but the Sheriff insists that Michael will try and stay hidden and off grid. Molly Wallace meets up with Kerry Myers (Michael's brother) for sex in a graveyard; and fantasizes that it is Michael instead of Kerry, and Kerry leaves when she accidentally calls him Michael. Toledo Jones has an unsettling interview with Lindsey Wallace. Tommy Doyle gets in a fight at the dance and thrown in jail by Deputy Wesier when another guy hits on Amber Fox. Sheriff Brackett calls Michael's sister Judith to warn her that he escaped and may go after her; she tells him not to worry as she has "disappeared"; Brackett and Judith dance around the fact that they obviously had a long term relationship that did not end well.
1.04 - "Halloween Day, October 31st, 2016" (Sep 30, 2016) 0.6/3 2.83
Flashbacks show us Michael coming of age, and leaving the youth institution under Dr. Loomis and entering an adult facility where they basically "catalogue" him and try and keep him sedated; no family ever visits him of course after he killed his Mother. Laurie has a huge fight with Amber over her Halloween plans and considers going to Sheriff Brackett. Toledo Jones digs into stories posted by online "survivors" of Dr. Loomis' treatments and goes to meet with one of them for an interview. Sheriff Brackett while publicly still calling for calm; privately tells his deputies they will be working around the clock, and tries to get help from the State patrol but is turned down. Michael meets up with his brother Kerry when he visits his Mother's gravesite, and exacts his revenge for perceived injustices.
1.05 - "Halloween Night, October 31st, 2016 (1)" (Oct 7, 2016) 0.5/2 2.42
Michael stalks Laurie Strode as she babysits; but doesn't strike. Flashbacks are shown of Molly sending love letters to Michael in the institution and attempting to visit; the letters also keep him abreast of what is going on in Haddonfield. Molly Wallace decides to hang out at Michael Myers' mom's grave in hopes of meeting Michael but ends up having a sexual escapade with Deputy Weiser in the back of his police car while Michael watches from the tree line. Michael follows Molly back to Lindsey's house and stalks her from the inside as she gives candy out at the door; while Lindsey takes the kids out trick or treating. Molly finally gets to meet Michael, and gives herself willingly to him; until he attacks her.
1.06 - "Halloween Night, October 31st, 2016 (2)" (Oct 14, 2016) 0.6/3 2.66
Lindsey and the kids return home, where they see lots of blood but no sign of Molly. Michael breaks into his childhood home where Amber Fox and Tommy Doyle are filming a sexcapade for her internet channel; he slaughters both of them while still live on the air. Dr. Loomis rushes to the house and sees Michael fleeing, but is too paralyzed by fear to pursue him. Flashbacks show us Michael's preparations to escape from the sanatorium, and Dr. Loomis' attempts to stay in touch with Michael after his transfer. Sheriff Brackett and Deputy Weiser attempt to track down Michael using a bloodhound which ends with Deputy Weiser on a hook. Toledo Jones takes the story national and the State sends troops in to look for Michael. Michael's sister Judith arrives back in town and goes to see Sheriff Brackett.
1.07 - "Midnight" (Oct 21, 2016) 0.6/3 2.86
Lindsey tries to take the kids in the SUV and head out of town, but Michael has damaged the vehicle so they flee across the street to a neighbor's house; a macho hunter named Steve Kane. The state troopers arrive and liaison with Sheriff Brackett and Dr. Loomis. Toledo Jones ambushes Dr. Loomis with allegations of abuse done to Michael Myers; and Sheriff Brackett has her thrown in jail for disturbing the peace. Laurie Strode puts the kids to bed, and online does research on the Michael Myers story; but ends up falling asleep on the couch. With most of the troops out looking for him Michael walks into the police station and takes out a couple cops and a criminal waiting processing. He tries to get to a terrified Toledo but can not get into the cell. As he tries several keys she tries to talk to him about knowing the truth about Dr. Loomis; which just seems to infuriate him more. Unable to get into the cell Michael leaves Toledo alive.
