Corvette Club; 2016-17 Season Preview

Liberty television has the fastest new show on television this fall; Corvette Club airing Wednesday nights at 9:00pm/8cst.

Barry and Allan, two burnouts from San Bernadino are hired by a mysterious benefactor to steal and destroy a list of rare Corvettes across California and Nevada. Along the way they pick up an apparently kind hearted young street walker named Angel, totally oblivious to the fact that she is murdering johns at every stop along the way.

Corvette Club takes over the time slot left vacant when Stoops was cancelled after 3 seasons on Liberty. It is preceded by another freshman show Nola Hart (last year Hollywood RHD had this slot), and acts as the lead-in for Liberty's top ranked show Greatest Hits. Competition will be tough with Modern Family/Blackish (ABC), and a slew of heavy dramas Criminal Minds (CBS), Frequency (CW), Empire (FOX), and Law & Order: SVU (NBC). The network has hope that the Corvette Club will find its niche audience with viewers not wanting such serious fare.

1.01 - "Pilot" (Sep 28/2016) 0.4/1 1.44

Barry Melnyk and Allan Kirton, two burnouts from San Bernadino decide to steal a rich man's Corvette, a one of a kind prototype 1963 Split Window Coupe with a "4th seat" in the back. The two childhood friends though get caught by the man's security agent Warren Nurse who shows he is tougher then he looks and sounds. Mr. Shaw though is impressed with Barry & Allan and offers them a job; to steal a rival's corvette in New Mexico and drive it to a warehouse that Shaw owns in Las Cruces. The duo make a plan to steal the 1962 327/360 Fuelie using Barry's computer hacking skills along with Allan's mechanical skills. Along the way they pickup a hitchhiker, a prostitute named Angel who is happy to play along for a ride to Las Cruces, stringing the boys along with her sex appeal. The theft of the Fuelie goes off well from a ranch style mansion, but when there is a hot pursuit the boys learn that Angel is a lot better getaway driver than either of them. The group is met at the warehouse by Nurse who offers them (via blackmail) another job. 

1.02 - "Silver Ray" (Sep 28/2016) 0.3/3 1.05

Barry & Allan conspire to steal a famous actor's 1963 Silver Sting Ray (they were not Stingray's yet) from his estate in the Hollywood hills. Mr. Shaw has Nurse drive a trailer nearby to take delivery. Barry & Allan run into trouble when they find two cars almost identical and decide they need to steal them both; but only one will fit into the trailer. In the meantime Angel goes missing and they think she may have run off, but she shows up at the climax, but with the cops hot on her tail. Barry uses his hacking skills to look into Mr. Shaw's background and finds some shady deals.

1.03 - "Z-Car" (Oct 5/2016)  0.3/3 0.98

Mr. Shaw is attending an auction for a ultra-rare 1971 Corvette ZR2 (one of only 12 made) but fears that a competitor from Saudi Arabia will out bid him no matter the cost. So he puts Barry & Allan into place as his back-up plan to steal the car despite a live internet audience across the world and heavily armed security in Palm Beach, Florida. (guest, Josh Nasar). Once again Angel drops out of sight and returns just in time to help the getaway.

1.04 - "Rebel" (Oct 12/2016)  0.3/1 1.05

FBI agent Bonnie Urquardt pick up the trail of the Corvette Club despite being told to leave it alone by her boss. Nurse falling victim to identify theft, and Barry's growing attraction to Angel get in the way of the Corvette Club's next target; a Corvette L88 Rebel which is in the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Things become even more complicated when a large sinkhole opens up in the Museum during the caper.

1.05 - "Barn Find"

Mr. Shaw sends Barry & Allan to rural Iowa where he believes a farmer has a hidden 1970 Corvette LS5 that he doesn't even know exists. When there own car breaks down the Club has to spend the night on the farm with Barry trying to get romantic with Angel in the barn, and Allan trying to complete a late night booty call to the farmer's daughter's room. Agent Urquardt interrogates Nurse.
