Liberty Television's most talked about new sit-com for the year is the adolescent love story between two opposites, Alyssa and Sean. The rookie show will air on Monday at 8:30pm/7:30CST, following Buy More. Last year that slot was occupied by Another Teen Vampire Show which will now be a mid-season offering. The show has received a full season 22 episode order as a show of faith from the network who are hoping for a better than 1.0 demo.

The competition will be "Kevin Can Wait" until "Man With A Plan" takes over on CBS at the end of October; 2 star powered new sit-coms helped by the Big Bang Theory lead-in at the start of the year. FOX has "Gotham" while CW has "Supergirl"  and NBC has "The Voice" while ABC has "Dancing With the Stars". It's stiff competition for the show but the network hopes that the writing buzz and the comparisons to Freaks and Geeks (and E.K.) will get fans on board early to avoid letting another quality show fail before people take notice.

From the creative teams behind Liberty's "E.K." and NBC's "Freaks and Geeks" comes an enduring coming of age high school love story with the reality of the awkwardness and clumsiness of true relationships, not the music driven MTV glamorous 25 year old hard bodies playing high school kids kind of show. In fact although the show has a musical backdrop music is not used at all unless it is actually being played in the show. Even the theme song is devoid of music, instead being filled with the hallway noises of high school.

Alyssa is an exceptional straight A's scholar and an extraordinary musician. She is a go getter, involved in band, choir, debate, etc, who was once seen as a slightly overweight, non-athletic music geek, but thanks to some maturity by her part as well as the other students, and the popularity of such shows as Glee and Pitch Perfect, is now fairly close to universally loved by most of her school. All this despite only being a Sophomore.

Sean on the other hand is a slacker, an enigma, a weirdo maybe, voted most likely to "go postal" by his peers. However, Sean also has an extraordinary ability to see through and inside people's thought and emotions. While Alyssa has a fantastic IQ that makes her a genius, Sean has an EQ (Emotional Quotient) that makes him interesting to those who he allows to get close. Sean comes from a lineage of gypsies, his own Grandmother once being a renown palm and fortune reader.

An unlikely pair find their friendship turn into love. What would seem like a recipe for disaster continues to endure because Sean is secure enough in his non-activity to allow Alyssa to flourish and encourage her instead of trying to bring her down.

This level of encouragement is needed by Alyssa because only Sean and her music teacher Mr. Bernard show that level of care in her life. On the other hand Alyssa just enjoys Sean's company and doesn't push him to have more active interests.

Outside of each other Alyssa's best friend is her fellow musician Parker, who also runs track and is quite popular. Everyone except Alyssa, Sean, and Parker are convinced that Alyssa will end up with Parker and not Sean. On the other hand other than Alyssa the only close friend that Sean has is Bernie "Top Gun" Richards whose dream of being a fighter pilot and his simple straightforward nature seems to click with Sean.

Follow this pair of dreamers and their enigmatic love as they try and navigate their way through the final 2 years of high school and all the pit falls and obstacles along the way.

Episode Guide

1.01 - "Pilot" (2016) (Sep 19/16) 0.7/2 1.99

Alyssa Poisson's favorite teacher and mentor Mr. Bernard, recruits an incoming enigmatic junior Sean Gill to play guitar in the stage band where Alyssa is the star drummer and sax player. However, Sean rebels against the band and gets off to a bad start with Alyssa; and he quits the band. Mr. Bernard, a free spirit, wants to just let it go but Alyssa does some snooping and puts a bug in the ear of Principal Campbell as Sean was only allowed into the school from out of district because he was so talented. Campbell attempts to get him expelled but the guidance counsellor Ms. Covington intercedes. After a meeting with Gill, Ms. Covington proclaims to Bernard and Campbell that he is the emotional equivalent of a genius, and has amazing insights. Alyssa goes to Parker's house to hangout after her parents are fighting; but all she can do is talk about Sean. Alyssa uses her position as year book editor to dig into Sean's background.

1.02 - "Love in a Dark Cinema" (2016) (Oct 3/16) 0.7/2 2.07

Alyssa starts a new job at the movie multiplex where she meets "Top Gun" Bernie Richards, Sean's only real friend in the world, but a true air cadet. The rest of the staff laugh at how Sean comes to the movies himself and moves many times from seat to seat during a movie, watching the other audience members instead of the movie. Bernie tells Alyssa about Sean's interest in people and his family's gypsy fortune telling background. In math class Ms. Trang tries to put Sean in his place, but he rips her apart with some insights and forces her to leave the class in a huff; with Ms. Covington having to come and cover her class. Parker razzes Sean in the hallway but he is saved by Alyssa. Sean "analyzes" Alyssa, about how 20 years ago she would have been picked on because of her weight and her quirks, but thanks to shows like "Glee" she is now accepted and even beloved by her class; while he the quiet stranger is feared that he will go all "Columbine". Alyssa sits with Sean at the movies and he tells her about the people around them.

1.03 - "The Evil Eye" (2016) (Oct 10/16) 0.7/2  2.14

The Poisson family attempts to go to the zoo as a happy functional family. Sean is arrested by the police after he follows a couple home after the movies. Ms. Covington tries to get closer to Sean, but for once he misinterprets signals, and Campbell walks in at an awkward moment. Sean's gypsy Grandma pays a visit to Principal Campbell.

1.04 - "Meet the Parents" (2016) (Oct 17/16) 0.7/2 2.19
Alyssa invites Sean and Parker over for dinner where they meet her family. Sean has cross words with Alyssa's Dad, and then psychoanalyzes him, accusing him of having an affair at the office; causing the entire night to implode.

Sean invites Alyssa and Bernie over to have dinner with his crazy gypsy family. Sean's Grandma though see's the relationship between Alyssa and Sean is toxic and will end in tragedy. Ms. Covington tries to convince Sean to apply for criminology to one day work for the FBI; and brings in an FBI friend of hers to "duel" with Sean.
