The 2016-17 Liberty Television schedule that was unveiled has more changes than the network has seen over the past few years. The commitment to original scripted television shows remains strong, with an expanded selection of sit-coms this year, now featured on three nights instead of just one.
Monday nights features the 5th season of Buy More at 8pm and the 3rd season of Havana at 10pm. Cast and character changes are always afoot when it comes to Buy More; and Havana will switch this season to focusing on Rick and the Mob's efforts stateside in Miami, Washington, and Chicago as Havana itself turns communist after the repatriation of the Philadelphian casino.
New on Monday nights are;
Alyssa Luvs Sean
8:30pm
Sit-com (coming of age, High School)
Production Company; Salter Street Productions, DreamWorks Television
Creators; Trevor Suffield, Hart Hanson, Paul Feig
From the creative teams behind Liberty's "E.K." and NBC's "Freaks and Geeks" comes an enduring coming of age high school love story with the reality of the awkwardness and clumsiness of true relationships, not the music driven MTV glamorous 25 year old hard bodies playing high school kids kind of show. In fact although the show has a musical backdrop music is not used at all unless it is actually being played in the show. Even the theme song is devoid of music, instead being filled with the hallway noises of high school.
Alyssa is an exceptional straight A's scholar and an extraordinary musician. She is a go getter, involved in band, choir, debate, etc, who was once seen as a slightly overweight, non-athletic music geek, but thanks to some maturity by her part as well as the other students, and the popularity of such shows as Glee and Pitch Perfect, is now fairly close to universally loved by most of her school. All this despite only being a Sophomore.
Sean on the other hand is a slacker, an enigma, a weirdo maybe, voted most likely to "go postal" by his peers. However, Sean also has an extraordinary ability to see through and inside people's thought and emotions. While Alyssa has a fantastic IQ that makes her a genius, Sean has an EQ (Emotional Quotient) that makes him interesting to those who he allows to get close. Sean comes from a lineage of gypsies, his own Grandmother once being a renown palm and fortune reader.
An unlikely pair find their friendship turn into love. What would seem like a recipe for disaster continues to endure because Sean is secure enough in his non-activity to allow Alyssa to flourish and encourage her instead of trying to bring her down. This level of encouragement is needed by Alyssa because only Sean and her music teacher Mr. Bernard show that level of care in her life. On the other hand Alyssa just enjoys Sean's company and doesn't push him to have more active interests. Outside of each other Alyssa's best friend is her fellow musician Parker, who also runs track and is quite popular. Everyone except Alyssa, Sean, and Parker are convinced that Alyssa will end up with Parker and not Sean. On the other hand other than Alyssa the only close friend that Sean has is Bernie "Top Gun" Richards whose dream of being a fighter pilot and his simple straightforward nature seems to click with Sean.
Follow this pair of dreamers and their enigmatic love as they try and navigate their way through the final 2 years of high school and all the pit falls and obstacles along the way.
Starring; Grace Kaufman as Alyssa Poisson, Asa Butterfield as Sean Gill, Matt Nye as Mr. Bernard (music teacher), Beibi Gong as Ms. Trang (Math teacher), Laura Mennell as Ms. Covington (guidance counselor), Amanda Zaeske as Parker Potts, Bradley Steven Perry as Bernie "Top Gun" Richards, Jamie Denbo as Sean's Mom, Brenda Blethyn as Sean's Grandma, Brian Howe as Sean's Dad, Jane Kaczmarek as Alyssa's Mom, Scott Thompson as Alyssa's Dad, Christopher Avila as Devon Poisson, Max Charles as Gabe Poisson, Harry Anderson as Principal Campbell
Rollin'
9:00pm
Drama (time piece)
Production Company: Sony Pictures Television, Salter Street Films
Creators: Al Profit, Bert Salke, Donnie Wahlberg, Neal McDonough
Set in the late 1970's Detroit, this anti-hero drama features an unusual alliance between a black FBI agent (Kareem) sent to Detroit to clean up the drug trade, with a white blue-collar "lifer" auto worker (Elliott). Elliott gets tired of seeing the city within the city, his massive auto plant, besieged by drugs and gangs, and the effect that has on morale, quality, and the long term decision by the company to keep production here or move it off shore. The writing seems to be on the wall for both the auto industry with the Japanese starting to take over market share, and with the city of Detroit crumbling around them. Unable to gain a foothold outside the factory Kareem agrees to help Elliott by bending and then breaking the laws, in return for progress he can show to his superiors.
Neal McDonough as Elliott Long, B.J. Britt as Kareem (FBI agent), Michael Stuhlbarg as Dieter Toeffer (union boss), Judy Greer, Damon Herriman, Randy Couture, Zoe Belkin as daughter, Shonna Major, Jamie Renell, Sean Cook as manager,
Christopher Bucholz as the German.
Tuesday Nights is the only weeknight that features all returning scripted shows. Night Shift in its 8th season, and Tuesday's Gone in its 6th season make the move from Monday night. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday will all start the evening with two sit-coms from 8pm-9pm. Downbeats returns for a 2nd season with a new crossover from Hollywood RHD. Night Moves will once again anchor the night at 10pm with its 4th season with the action consolidating to primarily only the one bar "Diamonds & Rust".
Wednesday Nights will begin with two new dramas Nola Hart and Corvette Club before finishing with Liberty's highest ranking show, season 6 of Greatest Hits.

Friday Nights is completely new on Liberty TV this fall. Macabre and Saradas were so successful last season that they have been moved to Sunday nights for the fall, with Macabre probably moving back to Friday's in the Winter. That will be followed up with a new imagining of Halloween at 10pm.

Dramas will include Wildwood (Season 5) likely joining Sunday nights after Macabre switches back to Friday nights in November, and sophomore shows Kingmakers and Die Cast which will either find a spot on the winter rotation or the spring/summer schedule.
Listmayor
genre; Sit-com (family)
Production company; Universal Television, MapleStar Entertainment
Creators; George Erschbamer, Trevor Suffield, Jerry O'Connell
John Pettis (everyone calls him Listmayor) tries to be the perfect family man in an uncertain world that he takes way too serious. Ever since he was young he had issues with anxiety, and his early coping method was to make lists, both centered around his life (grocery list, to do list, friends list) as well as just general lists (one hit wonders, best movies with bad endings, top 10 most horrific shark attacks since 1950...). Unfortunately school mates got wind of the lists and used it to mock him, hanging the nickname of Listmayor on him (the mayor of lists), and it stuck. Each episode of the show will center around the hectic world of John, but we also see the dichotomy between how the world see's it and how John perceives it, but will have the backdrop of John creating a list that somewhat pertains to his world at the moment.
Starring; Jerry O'Connell as John Pettis (Listmayor), Isla Fisher as Shirley Pettis (wife), Elidh MacQueen as Brittney Scott (Listmayor's co-worker; hot; scheming), Karin Konoval as Bess Pettis (John's Mom), Sam Richardson (friend), Ashley Comeau, Charlie O'Connell, and Deena Dill
Roomies
genre; Sit-Com (family/friends)
Production Company; MapleStar Entertainment, Olive Bridge Entertainment
Creators; Michael J Fox, Will Gluck

While Darla and Jonas may look like a staid, steady couple, they also have had their wild side including riding motorcycles and travelling the globe.
