Mike George and Jim Brunzell battled to a double countout
John Nord defeated Charlie Norris by pinfall
Texas Hangmen defeated Davey Boy Smith & Tommy Jammer by pinfall **Hangmen want their tag titles back and went through this impressive duo to make their point
RCW Tag Team Title Match Ben Bassarab & Biff Wellington defeated Nightstalker & Soultaker (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by pinfall [Biff Wellington & Ben Bassarab retained the RCW Tag Team Titles] **lots going on this match. First of all it was obvious that there is still something wrong with Wellington's leg and his mobility was limited in this match. Bassarab carried the team. On the other side, Nightstalker seemed to be wrestling conservative and often tagged out quickly to Soultaker, maybe wanting to keep himself saved for defending his TV title. When Soultaker complained to Bockwinkel the manager just saved him away to go back and wrestle. Soon enough the challengers took over the match isolating Wellington. However, when they resorted to using the tag rope to choke and referee distractions to allow double teams, the Texas Hangmen came down and threatened Bockwinkel and his charges. They got into a fistfight with the challengers outside the ring and Bassarab sailed over the top rope to splash on the Nightstalker. The Hangmen left the ring with their damage done. The champions took back control of the match and Nightstalker didn't seem interested in turning the tables. The end came when Wellington had Soultaker over his knee and Bassarab dropped an elbow from the second rope directly on the temple.
Main Event #1 contender match; Winner gets title shot at Anniversary show: Rick Steamboat defeated Don Muraco by pinfall **another epic battle between these two men, and it really heated up, inside and outside the ring despite both being fan favourites. Steve Disalvo came down to ringside to give guest commentary, uninvited, but didn't interfere in the match just gave his negative opinions on the two men in the ring. In the end Steamboat countered a Muraco piledriver attempt with hedscissors, then a dropkick, followed by a crossbody block to pick up the win.

Davey Boy Smith defeated Dan Denton by pinfall
The Trooper defeated Kid Gallahad by pinfall **tainted win, this one isn't settled
Sheik Lou Fabiano & The Tasmanian Devil defeated Big Rhett & Tim Hunt by pinfall **from the east coast, the Devil looks short but impressive, Fabiano is more his manager then his partner
Paul Orndorff defeated Mike George by pinfall **great return from injury for the former RCW Heavyweight champion, back in the mix
RCW TV Title Match Tommy Jammer defeated Night Stalker (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by DQ [Night Stalker retained the RCW TV Title] **Bockwinkel got his man dq'd on purpose when Jammer had things going in his favor. Just before that Bockwinkel was gesturing for someone from the back (Soultaker??) but no one appeared so he had to do the dirty deed himself. This feud will continue over to the anniversary show. Main Event Ricky Steamboat & Don Muraco defeated Steve Disalvo & Soultaker (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by disqualification **Steamboat and Muraco make almost as good of partners as they did opponents, a great combination of speed and power. Disalvo and Soultaker were fighting like they had something to lose, and in the end they decided to refuse to leave the ring and fought with two men until they were disqualified.

11th Anniversary Show
Opening Bout Jumpin' Joe Savoldi defeated Mike George by pinfall at 9:26 after a jumping neck snap from the top rope **A clash of styles between the athletic high flying Savoldi and the classic ground wrestler George. The fans were solidly behind the action packed Savoldi who started strong, but when the match spilled to the floor George took over. George pressed his advantage and drew jeers from the crowd when he relentlessly worked a headscissors and then an armbar. He tried for a submission with a chickenwing but was too close to the ropes and Savolidi got the break. Joe mustered his energy while George complained to the ref, and then started to fight back. The action was fast and furious with Savoldi hitting a crossbody block only to have George roll through, and get the 1, 2, grab the tights, but the ref called for the break. Savoldi rolled up George for 2, but then George landed a knee to the gut, then a big knee lift to the face. He hit Savoldi with a spinebuster slam, and then set him up on the top rope, possibly for a superplex. However Savoldi kicked him off to create distance, and then jumped off the top snapping George's neck back as the two dropped to the mat. That was all he needed to pick up the win.
Special Tag Team Match Sheik Lou Fabiano & Tasmanian Devil defeated Jason Anderson & Charlie Norris by pinfall at 6:49 when the Devil pinned Anderson after an overhead belly to belly suplex **The Tasmanian Devil is quite the piece of work at a compact 5'9 240 lbs and one punishing move after another. He carried most of the match with Fabiano only coming in when his charge had a distinct advantage. However at one point Norris came on like a house on fire and managed to fight off both opponents. However when the ref was distracted escorting Anderson out of the ring it allowed the Devil to nail Norris from behind. Fabiano dropped a couple kneedrops then tagged out to the Tasmanian who hit a pair of lariats, put him in the corner for some punishing shoulderblocks and sidekicks. He followed this up with a snap suplex and then his finishing suplex.
John Nord defeated Pez Whatley by submission to the camel clutch at 10:12 **Whatley came to RCW from the south where he is a well known competitor for the NWA, as well as Florida and Alabama. Nord exerted his power in this match but Whatley gave as good as he took. However Pez made a mistake taking too long to go for a diving headbutt finisher which Nord rolled away from. He quickly followed up with a whip to the ropes and a big boot to the head, a side slam, and then put on the camel clutch and got the submission.
North American Women's Title Match Bad Girl defeated Wendy Richter by pinfall after a schoolgirl roll up at 8:40 [Bad Girl retained the North American Women's Title] **The match started as all Richter a house of fire. For the first 5 minutes she beat Bad Girl pillar to post but to give credit where due, the Bad Girl managed to kick out of one pin attempt after another. The turning point came when Richter went to the ring apron and executed a neck snap on Bad Girl who was inside the ring. However, when Richter landed outside the ring her leg went out from under her and it was apparent right away that she was having an issue with her knee. Once the champ recovered she went right to the knee of Richter. The ex-champ fought bravely and at one point looked like she might be able to pull off a win with a roll up but her knee buckled, she crashed, and Bad Girl rolled her up for the win.
Kid Gallahad defeated The Trooper by pinfall after a missile dropkick at 13:59 **very competitive match. Gallahad started strong but tried for a leap over the top rope splash onto Trooper on the floor only to have his opponent twist out of the way. Trooper went to work with boots, chokeholds, and then a devastating full nelson slam, that yielded a near fall. He locked on his finisher the big pinch, two handed neck claw, but Gallahad managed to escape by rolling backward and up taking Trooper down with a headscissors. Back on the offensive Gallahad nailed a pair of flying clotheslines, a snap suplex, and then his finisher. The fans seem quite happy to see the Scottish punk back in RCW.
Paul Orndorff defeated The Soultaker (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by pinfall after a piledriver at 6:14 **fast match but one that included a lot of violence. Soultaker went right after the neck area of the former champ returning from injury but couldn't sustain the momentum. Bockwinkel grabbed the ankle of Orndorff who then left the ring to attack the former AWA great. In the melee the ref got knocked out. Soultaker tried for a chairshot but Orndorff moved and it hit Bockwinkel instead. Orndorff then grabbed the chair and ~waffled~ Soultaker twice. Back inside the ring Orndorff delivered a big boot, and then a diving knee drop. Seconds later he nailed the big man with the piledriver and as Bockwinkel looked on in disbelief got the 1, 2, 3.
Jim Brunzell defeated Larry Zbyszko by pinfall after a flying dropkick at 11:11 **Zbyszko played his usual games of hide and seek and gripe and groan. But the veteran Brunzell kept his cool, and also survived a thumb to the eye which found its mark and caused it to swell up and shut. Despite all that Brunzell came on like a house of fire and nailed a beautiful dropkick to the chin to knock Zbyszko completely out.
Don Muraco defeated Davey Boy Smith by countout at 15:25 **started with a tentative handshake, some collar elbow hookups, tests of power, then some armbars. However, neither man, especially Muraco is exactly Lou Thesz so soon enough it heated up with some chops, then punches. Muraco hit a devastating shoulderblock to gain the advantage. He pushed it with a bodyslam, a couple knees to the back and then a surfboard. The two spilled out to the floor on the rope break, and there Smith gained the advantage and threw Muraco into the steel barricade. Back inside the ring Smith hit a powerbomb, a pair of running clotheslines, and it yielded a 2 count. A sleeperhold slowed down the match a bit but soon it picked up again with an exchange of punches. For the second time it spilled outside the ring. Muraco tried to send Smith into the barricade, but it was reversed and Muraco went crashing. DBS followed up with a running clothesline but Muraco ducked under it and sent DBS into the second and third row of seats. Muraco managed to stumble back into the ring to beat the 10 count but DBS was not able to follow. Hottest match of the night so far.
Roddy Piper defeated Zeus by disqualification at 11:33 **Zeus came out alone, no Jesse Ventura in tow. Piper attacked Zeus as he stepped through the ring ropes and we were on before the bell could ring. Piper hit Zeus with everything he could, a buzzsaw for the first half of the match, Zeus' head never came straight up, and the first time we saw his eyes on fire were when he managed to wrap both hands around Piper's throat and lift him up into a choke, with the Scottsman's legs dangling in the air. Zeus went to work with kicks, punches, and then a solid looking chokeslam. He got the 1, 2, then he lifted Piper's head up!! This match should have been over about 7 minutes in but Zeus wanted to hurt Piper more. He draped him across the second rope and choked him on the covered cable. He then sent him shoulder first into the ringpost, before pulling him by the legs into the middle of the ring and applying a very painful looking legspreader. Piper though managed to fight back, from his knees, punching Zeus in the thighs, and then as the ref circled, one right in the crotch. Piper now gained control and tried to get the win by jumping on Zeus' back and putting him in the sleeper. Zeus tried to get the break but Piper just kept holding on. Finally Zeus went backward to the ropes and the two men spilled out to the floor. There Piper went to work with fists to the head of the behemoth who in a fit of anger grabbed a chair and laid out Piper. Glowering overtop of the knocked out veteran, he wasn't aware that he had just caused his own disqualification.
RCW Television Title Match The Nightstalker (/w Nick Bockwinkel) defeated Tommy Jammer by pinfall after a pumphandle slam at 7:43 [The Nightstalker retained the RCW Television Title] **This match went back and forth with neither man getting a sustained advantage, and Bockwinkel was a non-factor. Then things changed suddenly when Nightstalker tossed Jammer outside the ring, followed to the ring apron and then did a dive onto the challenger. The huge move was followed back inside the ring by a fist drop, and then the finisher and it was all over, quickly and decidedly.
RCW Tag Team Title Match The Texas Hangmen: Psycho & Killer defeated Biff Wellington & Ben Bassarab by pinfall when Psycho pinned Bassrab after an assisted flying clothesline at 8:50 [The Texas Hangmen win the RCW Tag Team Titles] **another surprisingly quick match. In this one Wellington ran into trouble early as the challengers went to work on his injured knee. He was ineffective after that and Bassarab had to pretty much go it alone, and the two big challengers just wore him down.
Main Event RCW Heavyweight Title Match Ricky Steamboat defeated Strangler Steve Disalvo by pinfall after a diving crossbody block at 15:09 [Ricky Steamboat wins the RCW Heavyweight Title] **Disalvo attacked Steamboat as he entered the ring and then tossed him outside. Following him outside he drove Steamboat back first into the ring apron, twice, and this softened up the back for later in the match. Back inside Disalvo went with Greco-Roman punches to the head and then some kicks before a big bodyslam. Turning Steamboat over he dropped knees to the lower back and then locked on a Boston crab. The challenger gamely managed to make it to the ropes but the reprieve was short as the champion put on a bearhug. Finally Steamboat got going with some elbows to the head for the break, but when he came off the ropes he walked right into another bearhug. Again he fought his way out, nailed a couple spinning heel kicks and then took the champion down with spinning headscissors. He worked the headscissors for a bit and then went to a side headlock, before the two participated in a complicated series of criss crosses off the ropes. That sequence ended with Disalvo telegraphing a back body drop, Steamboat sliding down and nailing the champ with an uppercut forearm, then taking him down into a roll up for a 2 count. The champ came roaring back with a clothesline, then began to stomp away at the challenger who had to roll out of the ring to get away. As he tried to get back into the ring Disalvo grabbed him by the hair, but Steamboat nailed him with a forearm shiver, then snapped him throat first off the second rope. Steamboat went to the top buckle and came crashing down with an elbowdrop but only got a 2 count. He tried for a scoop slam but the big champ caused him to hurt his back. Disalvo nailed him with an earringer, then drove him chest first into the buckle. Disalvo nailed his piledriver finisher but his cover was sloppy and Steamboat got a foot on the bottom rope. Steamboat tried to recover as the champ argued with the ref. When the challenger got to his feet he saw red as the champ went for a running spear. Steamboat tried to get out of the way but the champ still got most of it. He covered and the ref counted, 1, 2, 3...or at least his hand slapped the ring for the 3rd count...but the ref immediately began to wave it off as he saw the foot on the bottom rope just before his hand hit the mat. Disalvo though didn't see him waving it off and was celebrating his win with his arms up in triumph. Steamboat attacked with a flying dropkick to the back of the champ which drove him into the buckle. Steamboat sent him to the ropes and hit him with the diving crossbody block and got the 3 count! We have a new and very popular Heavyweight champion of River City Wrestling!!
