Episode Guide;
1.01 - "Bourne Again"
Jason Bourne (Jason Patric) is just preparing dinner for his new wife, who is obviously quite pregnant, when the doorbell rings. The television informs us that he is living in the small country of Andorra (between Spain and France). They live in a mountainous area, and the television tells us that Andorra's status as a tax haven is under attack by the U.S. Justice department. Bourne gets the door but not before checking his gun in his waistband and checking a security camera. It appears grimn news though as he see's two guys in black suits and a limo out front.
Bourne tries to reason with the two goons who identify themselves as working for the US Justice department, and he tussles with them before disarming both of them. The window of the limo unrolls and CIA deputy director Michelle Munro (Morgan Fairchild) asks Bourne if he is going to shoot her, or if they can talk.
They take a ride in the limo and Munro tells him he still has the skill sets, and he wonders how they found him. She assures him they never lost him, they were willing to let him go; until now.
She says the new President of the USA, President Archer is putting together an exclusive inner circle of intelligence, because he fears the normal circles are infiltrated by the enemy and incompetence. The President wants to meet him. Bourne does his best to decline, before she drops the bombshell. If he agrees to work he will be working with his son.
Bourne denies having a son, but Munro lays out a file with Bourne's affair as a young soldier of 19 years of age with a Cambodian woman. Well they had a son, something Bourne didn't know about. This son Khan, rose through the ranks of Cambodian military before he was even 18. He has recently landed in America looking for a new start; one the American military is willing to give him. They have recruited him for wet work for the CIA. Bourne says he is too young and inexperienced. Munro says, yes, he is only 19. If Bourne were to come on board he could probably steer his son's career. His name is Khan, and Munro hands Bourne the file as they stop at his house.
Bourne has a heart to heart with his wife and tells her the news. She is extremely upset at first but then comes around. In the meantime Bourne verifies the report to be accurate. Bourne agrees to meet with the President but promises his wife he won't miss the birth of their baby; due in 3 weeks.
Bourne is brought into the Whitehouse under the cover of night and meets President Archer (William Devane), and new CIA director Tallman (Chris Cooper), General Talon (David Keith), and Davidson (Jim Codrington) a deputy in the NSA. Apparently from the meeting these are the men that Archer trusts and will become an informal inner circle. However, Tallman and Talon don't agree with the choice of Bourne and are very vocal on the issue.
President Archer makes it clear that the cold war is back on between Russia and the USA, as Russia is stirring the pot in the break away regimes and trying to cozy up to the Arabs.
The President wants Davidson and Bourne to go to Tajikistan, where the Russians are trying to grab control with a puppet governemnt and use that spot to cozy up to the Afghans and Pakistan extremeists. This is just a fact finding mission but it could get hot. From his dossier Bourne see's that Khan's name is on the security detail, and the President catches his eye with a meaningful gaze. Bourne tosses the dossier down and says he doesn't know yet whether he is willing to do this.
We see Khan getting a grilling from his commanding officer who doesn't quite see why everyone is trying to fast track this kid. He is growing suspicious.
The President of Tajikistan is showing meeting in his office with officials from Russia and Iran. The talk is who can better offer security for the all important Anzab tunnel which holds the economic future hopes of the country. Russian and Iran are trying to get a committment from the President to kick out the Americans who are currently doing security, saying they are secretly gathering intelligence for the CIA. The President is non-committal.
As Bourne drives home up the snowy peaks toward his cottage like house he is slammed from behind by a SUV, Bourne saw coming too late. A short chase occurs with the passenger in the SUV trying to take out Bourne's truck with an AK47. Finally Bourne is able to out manoveur his chasers who go flying off the edge of the roof to a fiery death below.
At home Bourne is relieved to see his family is okay. But he is not determined not to join the President's trust group. He tells his wife they are leaving in the morning, heading across Europe to maybe San Marino. She agrees but begins to cry until Bourne embraces her and assures her that she and the baby are all that matter to him.
1.02 - "Bourne to Run"
Bourne is en-route with his pregnant wife (Julie) to San Marino (a small country enveloped by Italy) when he hears the news that Taliban soldiers have shot down a US military plane. Bourne is able to put together that this was the plane that he would have been on. It strengthens his resolve until he begins to think about Khan being on that plane. He talks with Julie and she understands that he needs to find out what happened to Khan.
Two days later they are settled in a San Marino apartment and Bourne is able to piece together that Khan and others may have survived the crash and at least a couple soldiers were taken prisoner by the Taliban. Bourne gets in touch with his Arab contact in Pakistan Aziz Haider (Kabir Bedi) to get information and to arrage a meeting in Pakistan.
Early that next morning Bourne is on a plane to Saudi Arabia with thoughts of Khan, his mother, and Julie racing through his head. He also flashes back to the SUV which tried to run him off the road and is visibly aggitated by his lack of information. He falls asleep and dreams of the Cambodian woman. He then flashes back to his conversation with his wife before leaving. She reminds him that he still is not sure that all his new memories are real, that they could even be planted by the CIA.
Bourne arranges with Haider safe night transport into Tajikistan from Afghanastan but it goes horribly wrong. They are stopped in the middle of the desert by a security patrol, and despite fighting back Bourne and Haider are taken hostage. Their guides are summarily shot to death.

1.03 - "Bourne Free"
Jason Bourne has to engineer an escape for him and his Arab contact Aziz Haider. He's not sure whether their captors are Taliban, Iranian, Tajikistan, or some combination. They manage their escape but are pursued. Just when it appears they will be caught they are rescued by NSA agent Codrington and a couple soliders from the shot down plane who managed to survive. For the first time Bourne comes face to face with Khan, the man that is supposedly his son.
The rag tag group manage to contact General Talon who sets up an operation to extract them, ignoring CIA director Tallman's insinuations that they should make sure the mission fails.
CIA deputy director Michelle Munro comes across some information about her boss Tallman which seems to indicate that he may have some shady dealings with Russia. She contacts the head of the NSA to begin a joint covert investigation. They agree not to alert the President without more proof.
1.04 - "His First Bourne"
After a short firefight the extration of Bourne's group goes well. Back at a camp near Kabul, Bourne has a chance to talk to Khan only to find out the young man has only anger and hatred toward Bourne, not love. One of the few surviving soldiers was Lt. Their refusal to talk to him makes Severn very bitter.
In the middle of the night Bourne, Aziz Haider, and Codrington decide to take off on their own to infiltrate Tajikstan and to pursue the President's agenda. They are followed by Khan until it is too late to have him turn back.

President Archer has a heart to heart with the Russian President. Their telephone conversation though does not go well, especially when it turns to accusations that Russia is negotiating with Arab countries who support terrorism.
The President receives a report from Michelle Munro that Tajikistan is more pro-Russian and Iranian then originally thought and that American personnel may be in danger. Archer tries to reach Codrington and Bourne but to no avail as they have gone dark.
The little group reaches Tajikstan where Haider has contacts. They begin to circulate and put together their intelligence reports. Suddenly they receive reports that the American embassy is under attack by Tajik extremeists and a hostage situation is occuring.
