RCW Heavyweight Title Match
Vendetta (champion) v Rogue
Vendetta controlled early and worked a side headlock frustrating Rogue who kept trying to throw him off. The champ then nailed a couple of side kicks, followed by a big axe kick, and a legdrop to the back of the neck for a 2 count.
Vendetta went for the DDT but Rogue blocked it. The challenger went for his inverted DDT but the champ blocked it.
The match degenerated into fisticuffs, and then spilled outside the ring.

Taped:
Vendetta v Rogue (completion of last week's main event)
We pick the match up at the 8 minute mark with Rogue in complete control, and Vendetta looking like a beaten man. Some punches to the head as the champ is on his knees, and then falls face first into the mat. Rogue then gets down and rubs the champs face off the dirty canvas. Rogue then nails a nifty hammerlock bodyslam on Vendetta and then applies an armbar to try and gain the submission. When the champ refuses to subit the challenger drops a knee several times into the arm while holding it across the back. He walks Vendetta to the corner and bangs it off the top turnbuckle several times, nails an atomic drop, and then out of nowhere quickly hits his inverted DDT finisher. He makes the cover, doesnt hook the leg, and gets 1, 2, KICKOUT!!
Rogue loses his temper and throws Vendetta over the top rope..or so he thinks anyway. The champ lands on his feet on the ring apron, and then since Rogue has turned his back on him Vendetta nails a running clothesline to the back of Rogue's head. The champ follows up with a running legdrop, a scisors kick, standing side kick, dropkick, and a snap suplex with a float over for a 2 count.
He goes for a suplex but Rogue blocks it, rolls the champ up for a 2 count. Back on their feet Vendetta ducks a clothesline and the two end up back to back with their arms locked. Vendetta gets the better leverage and brings Rogue over into the pin, for 1, 2, 3 !! He got him.
Vendetta defeated Rogue by pinfall with a backward bridge at 14:07
[Vendetta retained the RCW Heavyweight Title]
Interview:
Rogue is on hand to complain about that, saying his shoulder was up. Baron von Raschke comes out to dispute the fact but Rogue won't listen to reason.
Vendetta then comes out and Raschke and referee Buddy Lane have to pull the two apart. The RCW Heavyweight champion offers Rogue a deal. He says he has no doubt he beat him fair and square, but if Rogue wants a rematch he can have one next week - on one condition. Rogue's TV title will also be on the line, its champion versus champion, title versus title. Baron von Raschke says there is no way he will sanction having one person hold both belts. Rogue says thats fine once he has the Heavyweight title he will drop the TV title (at least thats what we think he said). Vendetta likewise says he has no interest in the TV title but if he takes it from Rogue he hopes a more honorable wrestler can then capture the belt. Baron agrees to the terms of the match for next week.
Raschke then tells the fans to stay tuned, as later tonight he will make an announcement concerning the 9th Anniversary Spectacular that they just won't want to miss.

Opening Bout:
Miguel Perez Jr. & Johnathon Holliday defeated Jack Steele & Nick Mercury by pinfall when Holliday pinned Steele after an inside cradle (with a handfull of trunks) at 6:59
-Steele and Mercury dominated most of the bout with Perez going to alone as his 150 pound manager wanted no part of the match. But at the right time he lowered the top rope sending Steele flipping over the top to the floor below. Perez nailed a couple more moves inside the ring then cheapshot Mercury off the ring apron. While referee Buddy Lane was distracted with Mercury trying to get into the ring Steele almost made a comeback until Holliday entered the ring and clipped his knee from behind. He then rolled him up and while Lane counted he grabbed the tights just to make sure.
Interview:
A very obnoxious Johnathon Holliday and Miguel Perez Jr tell RCW to bring on bigger and better competition.
Interview:
The fans get an introduction to the humble Biff Wellington who talks about his training under Stu Hart's Stampede Wrestling, his friendship with Owen Hart and Chris Benoit, and his upcoming match against Mike Lozansky.
Bout #2
Biff Wellington defeated Mike Lozansky by submission to the sleeperhold at 7:25
-Wellington controlled early with a power attack, but Lozansky managed to turn the tables and cheat his way to a few near falls. He made the mistake of telegraphing a flying crossbody block, but Wellington saw it, moved partially out of the way and both men went down. Slowly back to their feet Lozansky went for a suplex that Wellington blocked, and then nailed a vertical suplex of his own. Lozansky got up and Wellington put him in the sleeperhold. Try as he could Lozansky could not back Wellington into the ropes or otherwise get a break, and when Hermann raised his hand 3 times it fell 3 times to end the match.
Interview:
Biff Wellington is being interviewed again after the match, as the victor, when Mike Lozansky returned to the ring and nailed him from behind with a running axhandle smash. Lozansky laid the boots to Wellington until the big man showed some signs of life and then Lozansky earned his nickname the bullet and shot out of the ring.

RCW Tag Team Title Match
Top Guns (Ricky Rice & Derrick Dukes) defeated Bad Company (Paul Diamond & Pat Tanaka) by pinfall when Rice pinned Tanaka after a belly-to-back suplex at 8:26
[Top Guns win the RCW Tag Team Titles]
Bad Company went right after the injured Dukes but to no avail as he showed no sign of weakness. Three times the champs convened outside the ring to create a delay and talk strategy. The third time they decided better then to go back in the ring, retrieved their title belts and began to walk away. However, the crowd popped big time as they were met half way down the aisle by Baron von Raschke and Don Muraco who walked them back to the ring. Inside all four men went at it, and the Top Guns hit dropkicks on both their opponents. They worked over first Diamond, then when he tagged out to Tanaka, they worked him over too. The end came when Rice feigned the blind tag to Dukes by slapping his own back instead of Dukes' hand. Tanaka heard it and having seen this show before went after Dukes who stood on the apron poised to vault over the top rope with the shoulderblock, and knocked him off the apron. But Rice was still the legal man and took Tanaka over with the belly-to-back suplex. Diamond wasn't quick enough to break up the pin, nailing Rice in the back of the head after the third count.
Post-Match:
Diamond pounded on Rice until Dukes made the save, but then Tanaka entered and it was two-on-one on Dukes. They had him set up for a stuffed piledriver when Raschke and Muraco returned to make the save.
Promo:
The crowd cheered for Baron von Raschke and Don Muraco as they helped the Top Guns to their feet and presented them with the RCW tag team belts.
As the tag champs left the ring Raschke says he is hear with the huge announcement for the 9th Anniversary Spectacular. But first he welcomes Don Muraco to RCW. Muraco gets on the mic and thanks the fans for the welcome and says he has seen enough to know that the problems here in RCW stem from Bob Orton and Scott Hall running around doing what they please. This brings out Bob Orton and Scott Hall who from the safety of the floor call Muraco a cement head and say he doenst have the brains to beat either one of them. So Raschke says that sounds like a challenge, and when Muraco nods his head, the commissioner sets it up for next week, it will be Cowboy Bob Orton Jr against Don "the Rock" Muraco!! Add that to the Vendetta - Rogue champion versus champion, title versus title, and then add in one more match; Bad Company deserve a rematch as the former champions so they will tangle with Top Guns one more time. But to make sure the score is settled properly that match will be best two out of three falls!! Next week will be an edition of River City Wrestling from Grand Forks that you don't want to miss.
Getting back to the big announcement for the 9th Anniversary Spectacular, RCW is bringing in the two top tag teams of the 1980's to face each other for the first time. This match will be so historic that it too deserves to be two out of three falls. That match will pit the reunited British Bulldogs (Dynamite Kid & Davey Boy Smith) against the Road Warriors Hawk & Animal with Paul Ellering in their corner. The fans go nuts as the show comes to a startling conclusion.
That's it for another edition of River City Wrestling.

Already signed to appear, a historic tag team battle between the British Bulldogs and The Road Warriors (/w Paul Ellering) in a two out of three falls contest.
Also signed for that card is Don "the Rock" Muraco.
Opening Bout:
Don Muraco defeated Bob Orton Jr by disqualification after outside interference at 6:19
-Orton controlled early thanks to a cheapshot and some chokeholds. But Muraco fought through that and dominated Orton. Before he could hit his piledriver though Scott Hall entered the ring and nailed Muraco from behind.
Post-Match:
A two on one beatdown continued until RCW officials and a few wrestlers arrived on the scene to break it up.
Interview:
After a commercial break we come back to Don Muraco who is hurt but still kicking. He says that if Hall wants a piece of him so bad then he should have just asked. He can have a piece of the Rock next week instead of attacking him from behind.
Bout #2
RCW Tag Team Title Match
Best 2 out of 3 Falls
Top Guns (Ricky Rice & Derrick Dukes) v Bad Company (Paul Diamond & Pat Tanaka)
First fall was fast and furious with lots of quick tags and short lived double teams. Ricky Rice nailed Diamond with a backbody drop, then Dukes who had already been tagged in, came off the top rope with a kneedrop for the fall.
Derrick Dukes pinned Paul Diamond at 4:56
Top Guns 1 - 0 Bad Company
The second fall came to a grinding hault as both teams worked submission holds, and tried to cut off the ring. Bad Company was much more successful in this and Diamond hit a spinebuster on Dukes, and then Tanaka hit him with a running legdrop to get the pin.
Pat Tanaka pinned Derrick Dukes at 9:10
Top Guns 1 - 1 Bad Company
The third and deciding fall started with fireworks as all four men exchanged kicks and punches outside the ring. Back inside Dukes played Ricky Morton until he got a hot tag in to Rice. After that the Top Guns dominated, and with Tanaka on dream street they made the blind tag and Dukes hit the shoulderblock to pick up the win.
Derrick Dukes pinned Pat Tanaka at 13:59
Top Guns win 2 falls to 1
[Top Guns retained the RCW Tag Team Titles]
Interview:
The Top Guns only dwell on that victory for a few seconds, before getting something off their chest. They say they are the RCW Tag Team Titles, and yet it seems that RCW wants to push the British Bulldogs and Road Warriors down the peoples' throats. The Guns ask for the fans support in showing that the Top Guns are more popular here then either of those teams, but they receive a cold reception from the crowd.
Interview:
The RCW Heavyweight champion Vendetta comes to the ring. He says he is ready for his match tonight against Rogue, and ready for all the down and dirty tricks he will try and pull. Vendetta says he agrees with the Baron's judgement that no man should hold both single's titles so he will vacate the TV title when he wins it tonight against Rogue. Vendetta also gets in a plug for UNICEF.

Main Event
RCW Heavyweight & RCW Television Title Match
Champion v Champion, Title v Title
Vendetta (RCW Heavyweight Champion)
v
Rogue (RCW Television Champion)
The match started in strange fashion with a tug of war between Vendetta and Rogue over the heavyweight strap, only to have Rogue let go and Vendetta then fall down with the belt. Rogue was on top of him, pounding him with fists to the head. He tried to hit Vendetta with the belt but luckily Buddy Lane was there to snatch the belt away. Vendetta showed his strength by wrapping his arms around Rogue, taking a couple punches as he stood up with Rogue in the clinch and then gave him an inverted atomic drop, followed by a clothesline. He followed up with a running clothesline, dropkick, and a German suplex for a 2 count. He then went to the top rope which turned out to be an early mistake as Rogue cut him off, giving him a punch to the gut and throwing him off the top. Rogue hit a running legdrop, followed by a series of elbowdrops working their way up Vendetta's body. The TV champ slowed things down by working a reverse chinlock. Vendetta marshalled his strength and the cheers of the fans to get back to his feet and elbow his way out of it. The two then met midring shoulder to shoulder after coming off the ropes, and both men went down.
Vendetta was on his feet first and went to work on the legs of Rogue, stepping on the back of his thigh and bouncing his knee off the mat. He laid the leg over the bottom rope and stomped and bounced of it, then left the ring and slammed the leg off the ring apron. Back inside he put on the Indian death lock and Rogue spent a painful 30 seconds in the move before reaching the ropes. Vendetta pulled him off the ropes, and he landed hard on his tailbone. The Haitian, then stomped right on the tailbone, followed by a backbreaker, moving it down to that same spot. He followed this up with a bow and arrow submission driving his knee into the tailbone. Finally Rogue was able to roll over enough to break the move.
The TV champ tried to call for time out in the corner and draped his foot over the second rope. After a few seconds delay Vendetta went after him walking right into a thumb to the throat. Rogue then hit a reverse Russian legsweep, followed by another running legdrop, some elbowdrops, and a 2 count.
Now it was Rogue's turn to go to the top rope. Vendetta staggered to his feet, and caught Rogue mid-air but couldn't hold him and crashed to the mat. Lane counted 1, 2, Vendetta's fingers just reached out and touched the ropes for the break. Rogue then wasted time complaining to Buddy Lane and when he turned around Vendetta lifted him up with a double leg, and then kicked away at the back of his thighs. He tried to lock on the figure-four but Rogue kicked him off. The TV champ caught the Heavyweight champ with a chop to the chest, then down to his knees chopped at the midsection, then on his belly pulled the legs out from under Vendetta, then cradled a leg for a pin for only a 1 count.
Back on their feet the two men exchanged punches. Vendetta rocked Rogue backing him to the corner. Lane tried to get beteween them but Rogue stood on the second buckle and floated a punch over the top catching Vendetta in the head, then climbed to the top rope and jumped catching Vendetta with a punch to the face, dropping him like a stone. Rogue then climbed to the top buckle again but Vendetta caught him, froze him with a punch to the gut. Vendetta climbed to the second buckle, and then jumped off with his hands on Rogue's shoulder and gut, slamming him head over heels onto the mat. He covered but didn't hook the leg and got only a 2 count.
Vendetta then went for the Indian Deathlock again but Rogue reached up and gouged his eyes, and then rolled him up for 1, 2, he grabs the tights, but Lane catches him and stops the count. Lane warns Rogue a repeat infraction will cost him a disqualification. Rogue goes right after Vendetta but the Haitian grabs him by the trunks and throws him between the ropes. The heavyweight champ steps onto the apron and then jumps off driving a knee into the head of Rogue. He rolls him back into the ring, and then comes flying out of the corner with a flying shoulderblock. He comes out of the opposite corner and hits the same move. Rogue is on his feet but dazed. Vendetta goes for the DDT, but Rogue blocks it, and counters with a swinging neckbreaker! Both men are down. Rogue is up first at the count of 6, and puts Vendetta in position for the inverted DDT, but Vendetta is struggling and counters with a wristlock, and runs Rogue chest first into the turnbuckle. Rogue gets to his feet and Vendetta nails him with the DDT. He hooks the leg because of the proximity to the ropes and gets a 1, 2, 3 !!!
Vendetta defeated Rogue by pinfall after a DDT at 13:05

[Vendetta won the RCW Television Title]
Post-Match:
While Vendetta celebrated with both belts over his shoulders, Rogue slapped the mat in anger, kicked the bottom ropes, and threatened the ref and some fans before leaving.

Promo:
Baron von Raschke comes to the ring and calls out Vendetta. The popular Haitian comes to the ring wearing the Heavyweight title around his waist and the TV title across his shoulder. As already arranged Vendetta must vacate one and of course he vacates the TV title handing it to the Baron.
Baron says that the TV belt will be up for grabs at the 9th Anniversary Spectacular in a brand new concept battle royale, called the Gauntlet Royale. Yes it is similar to WWF's Royal Rumble but it is different in many exciting aspects.
There are already 10 wrestlers named to compete which are Nick Mercury, Biff Wellington, Chris Nevada, Bulldog Blades, Shayne Tustin, Mike Lozansky, Miguel Perez Jr., Pat Tanaka, Paul Diamond, and Kim Schau. However, their entry into the Gauntlet will not be just random, but seeded depending on how they do in a qualifying bout. Over the next two weeks December 4 & 11th there will be 5 matches featuring these 10. The winners get a delayed entry.
In addition to these 10 wrestlers we will be bringing in 4 former RCW greats, we're talking main event level competitors. These wrestlers will be named next week, and a random draw will be held with 2 getting a delayed seeding and 2 getting the early entry.
It will be an over the top battle royale, with a ball being drawn randomly from a dispenser every 90 seconds. The 7 delayed seedings will not have their names dropped into the draw until after 6 of the 7 early seedings have entered the ring. In addition, there will be 4 special balls dropped into the draw at the start. A ball marked "Zero" which if drawn means no one enters the ring for that 90 second period. "Two" which means two balls will be drawn and two men will enter the ring instead of one. "Five" which means no one will enter the ring and another ball will not be drawn for 5 minutes, and "Black" which will result in a draw of one ball from those wrestlers already eliminated to get re-entry into the Gauntlet. One person will get a second chance. These special balls can only be drawn once and will not be put back in if drawn.
Everyone is drawn into the rules and listening intently as the Baron explains them. Everyone is therefore caught off guard when Rogue slides into the ring and nails Vendetta from behind. He then grabs the TV title from a surprised Baron's hands and nails Vendetta in the head. Baron drags Rogue off of him with the claw, but Rogue kicks him in the gut and then throws him out of the ring. Rogue nails Vendetta in the head again with the title belt, and then nails him with the inverted DDT before the dressing room empties and drives him away. Vendetta is helped up by his fellow fan favorites and he is wearing the proverbial crimson mask.
The seeding matches starting next week will be as follows;
Nick Mercury v Mike Lozansky
Biff Wellington v Miguel Perez Jr
Chris Nevada v Pat Tanaka
Bulldog Blades v Paul Diamond
Shayne Tustin v Kim Schau
Opening Bout:

The British Bulldogs talk about their dream match against the Road Warriors being one that will determine how fans and experts rank the teams amongst the all time greats. They are glad it is 2 out of 3 falls so there will be no flukes, and believe it will be in their favour as their conditioning is better then the bigger Warriors.
Turning their attention to the comments last week of the Top Guns, they say they meant no disrespect to the young champs who they have watched tape of, and quite admire. That's not why they have come to RCW, and have no desire to fight for RCW gold. They were invited to take part in this specific match against the Road Warriors and decided it was too good to pass up.
Bout #3
Non-title Match
Top Guns defeated Brian Jewel & Gene Swan by pinfall when Rice pinned Swan after a superplex at 5:04
-glorified squash match
Interview:
The Top Guns apologize if anyone misunderstood their comments last week, especially the Bulldogs. They admit to not being happy about being upstaged but admit that the Bulldogs and the Road Warrirors deserve the spotlight and are ttwo teams that all young tag teams emulate. They say they were a little bit worried because at this point they still don't have a match for the big event. Ron Stong tells them not to worry, he has been told that the promoters have decided to bring in a special tag team from another territory to challenge them for the tag belts. That team will be announced next week.
Interview:
Don Muarco says that he is still very upset at Scott Hall for interfering in his match last week against Bob Orton. He says that is very bad news for Hall because he's going to take his anger out on him tonight. Ken Resnick asks Muraco how he's planning to deal with Orton being at ringside tonight since he is Hall's manager and has his managerial license. Muraco just smiles and says he has a special enforcer that he will bring out to keep an eye on Orton.
Pre-Match:
Bob Orton gets on the mic and protests saying he has checked with the office an no new manager licenses have been applied for or granted so this "enforcer" of Muraco's can not possibly be allowed to stay at ringside.
This brings out Baron von Raschke, who tells Orton he is "mistook". This enforcer can be at ringside and can go anywhere he pleases. Orton says that is against the rules, the same rules that the Baron (he's poking the Baron in the chest at this point) is duty bound to uphold. The Baron smiles and pokes back at Orton's chest as he responds that its those very duties that allow him to stay at ringside to keep an eye on the proceedings, and that he is the special enforcer that Muraco spoke about. And that is all that Orton needs to know!!
Main Event
Special rinside enforcer: Baron von Raschke
Don Muraco v Scott Hall (/w Cowboy Bob Orton Jr)
Hall attacked Muraco before the opening bell, smashing his head off the turnbuckle, slamming him to the mat, and stomping away. As ref Buddy Lane backed Hall away Orton reached in as if to punch Muraco, but Rashcke started to head that way so Orton backed off. Hall continued to punish Muraco with a vertical suplex, and a powerslam, for a 2 count. He went for the bulldog from the 2nd buckle but Muraco managed to push him off.
Fisticuffs ensued, and the match spilled outside where once again Raschke's presence stopped Orton from interfering. Back inside Muraco worked a reverse chinlock, bodyslam, elbowdrop, backbreaker, shoulderblock, and then went for his piledriver finisher but Hall countered with a backbody drop. More fisticuffs ensued and this time outside the ring Orton and Raschke did get involved, trading punches until Buddy Lane had to seperate them.
This allowed Hall the chance to choke Muraco first with his hands then with a TV electrical chord. Back inside Hall locked on a sleeperhold that he kept drifting down to a choke. Finally Lane made him break it, and Hall went to work with elbows and kicks. Muraco countered with a spinebuster and the two men collided on the rebound. Hall was first up but Muraco ducked under a clothesline and hit Hall with an impressive standing dropkick. The Rock then bodyslammed the big Hall, and set him up for the piledriver finisher again. This time Orton reached into the ring and tripped Muraco, a move not lost on referee Buddy Lane who called for the bell.
Don Muraco defeated Scott Hall by disqualification for outside interference at 6:32

Bob Orton slid into the ring. He was followed by Raschke but Orton caught the commissioner coming into the ring with a boot to the head. He then clipped the legs out from under Muraco. Hall went to work on Muraco while Orton held down Raschke in a front chancery. Hall gave Muraco a bulldog before throwing him out of the ring.
That's it for another edition of River City Wrestling.
See ya next week!!
