Blood Brothers
status; ordered to script
genre; drama
When patriarch and long term foster father Steven Queen calls his two favourite "sons" Joe and Tom back to his home with word he may soon be dying, he tells them that in the event of his passing they are to come back and they will find $700,000 hidden in his mattress, and he wants them to have that money. There is no record of it and his greedy children can't contest what they don't know about ~ they can split the rest of his meagre belongings.
Only a few short weeks later he passes and the two men return with some trepidation. They find the money and a gun, but as they hit a local greasy spoon to talk about what to do next and reminisce about the old man that raised them they are besieged by the cops and Queen's outlaw biker son and his gang. They do what they do best, run.
Now these two men with only shady pasts and a dead saviour in common must stay one step ahead of their pursuers and learn to trust each other or die.
Joe is only 22 very intelligent, but a loose cannon who is already on parole for assault, and has some gambling debts he would prefer not to honour. He aspires to be a professional con-man.
Tom is 31 and has been in and out of jail on small non-violent offences most of his life, and in a private moment Queen had asked him to help Joe out, to turn him around.
But as the two bond and scheme to stay ahead of their pursuers they also must face the questions of where the money came from, and why the gun was also there?
