Will is a second generation Latino American with plenty of brains, charisma, and potential, and on the track to attend an Ivy league Law school. However, when his father an immigrant gardner has a heart attack which rocks Will's world, and he falls for an idealistic native-american nurse (Starr) he decides to make a drastic change in his life. Will does not enroll in college, instead starts his own gardening business and works at living a wholistic life that he and Starr can be proud of. This puts him at odds with his recovering Father which in turn puts him in the bad graces of the whole family. However, Will and Starr are determined to strike out on their own, and to carve a living from the land, giving back more then they take.
