Executioner
(other working title suggestions include Drones, Predators, and Kill Shot).
60 Min
Drama
The show is set to premiere in the spring of 2014 as a double episode in early-May, then return for 11 more episodes over June, July, and August.
Follows a special air force unti that controls military drones remotely. The show explores the ethics and morality of the remote spy's and killers, as well as the shift of the air force from pilots to more high tech personnel including engineers and IT specialists. The unit also does not have the old school division of duties between male and female personnel.
Col. Noel that leads the unit may be old but he is welcome to new ideas and tries to meld the old with the new in the unit. He is however an unsufferable womanizer.
Maj. Dixon (Leslie-Ann Brandt) struggles with both the morality of the job as well as her place as a black woman, an engineering genius, and a patriot.
Patricia Washington, is an older female lawyer who is hell bent on proving that the drones are breaking international law and wants to bring the pilots to justice.
Lt. Scott Taylor (Felix Ryan) is the prototype of the new breed. No formal pilot training as studies have shown that trained pilots have a harder time adjusting to drones then new hires off the street. He is also of Armenian descent.
The initial story arc begins with the unit having to provice support after a real pilot goes down in Pakistan. Soon the unit finds itself making a huge mistake, killing civilians, but its covered up by the military because they have too much riding on the drones. The next set back occurs when one of the drones is hacked and taken over by the enemy.
