As the bout progresses, both men manage to hit their signature moves, with Sting hitting a Stinger Splash and Undertaker responding with a devastating chokeslam.
Both legends use the unforgiving steel to their advantage. Blood begins to flow as they're busted open from the brutal exchanges. Undertaker locks in his cross armbar, but Sting manages to power out. The match becomes a war of attrition, with neither man willing to stay down.
Exhausted and battered, the two icons trade blows in the center of the ring, each one barely able to stand. The crowd is on their feet, sensing the epic conclusion approaching. As the match nears the 25-minute mark, the stage is set for the dramatic finish.
As the match reaches its climax, Sting sets Undertaker up for the Stinger Splash in the corner. He charges forward, but Undertaker sidesteps, causing Sting to crash hard into the steel cage wall. Seizing the opportunity, Undertaker quickly capitalizes with a devastating Tombstone Piledriver. However, 'taker is too exhausted to go for an immediate pinfall.
The referee begins his count, and as he reaches eight, Undertaker drapes an arm over Sting. The referee counts—one, two—Sting kicks out just in time.
Sting, showing his resilience, climbs to the top buckle, but Undertaker jolts the ropes, causing Sting to crotch himself on the turnbuckle. Undertaker ascends to the top rope, setting up for a superplex, but Sting counters with an avalanche DDT, sending shockwaves through the arena.
Sting, slow to recover, attempts the cover, but Undertaker kicks out at two. With determination, Sting sets up for the Scorpion Death Drop, but Undertaker struggles against the hold as Paul Bearer rushes to ringside, brandishing the urn. Despite the distraction, Sting manages to hit the finisher. Bearer holds the urn up high and urges the Undertaker to rise. Undertaker miraculously kicks out at the count of two.
Sting then transitions into the Scorpion Deathlock, but Undertaker counters with an ankle lock, wrenching Sting's leg. Sting inches his way toward the ropes, desperate to break the hold.
In a final burst of energy, Sting comes off the ropes, but Undertaker catches him by the throat for a chokeslam, earning a close two-count. With the crowd on the edge of their seats, Undertaker nails Sting with a Tombstone Piledriver, finally securing the three-count for the victory.
