The PWF...it's better than a kick in the balls...
Tonight's Line-Up
Eight random Six-Man Tag Matches
Winners Battle Royale
Introduction
Tonight, we have 8 six-man or trios tag bouts between randomly picked teams. The team parameters were they should be from various decades, a mix of styles, territories, sizes. We tried to stay away from wrestlers who had already appeared in PWF and away from wrestlers considered to be superstars. The draws were not completely successful but we played the hand we were dealt. The referees were given instructions to try and make sure that the matches ended with a winner, not a no-contest or DQ. This resulted in many of the bouts having multiple wrestlers in on the action at a time. Each bout also has a 15-minute time limit, creating a sense of urgency to the wrestlers. Some of the old school wrestlers, especially those reliant on wrestling skills and wear down holds struggled at times with the pace of the bouts.
The members of the winning 8 teams will all go into a battle royale. The winner of the over the top battle royale will get the 16th and final spot in the Heavyweight Tournament. So that means at the start of the night there will be 48 wrestlers all with the chance of getting into the big tournament.
Bout #1:
Ted DiBiase, Ray Odyssey & Ricochet vs. Roddy Piper, Jack Brisco & Mike Bailey
The match kicks off with Ricochet's high-flying offense, but Piper's brawling style counters effectively. Brisco uses his technical prowess to wear down Odyssey with a series of suplexes. As time winds down, Piper hits a sleeper hold on DiBiase, but Ricochet breaks it up with a springboard dropkick. In the final moments, Bailey nails Odyssey with a running knee strike, securing the victory for his team.
Winners: Roddy Piper, Jack Brisco & Mike Bailey
Match 2:
Swerve Strickland, Kamala & Eddie Graham vs. Ricky Starks, Brian Pillman & Jay Youngblood
Kamala's power dominates early, but Pillman's agility keeps his team in the match. Youngblood and Graham exchange chops, but Swerve's innovative offense turns the tide. In the closing moments, Starks hits a Roshambo on Graham, but Kamala breaks the pin. Swerve capitalizes with a Swerve Stomp on Pillman for the win.
Winners: Swerve Strickland, Kamala & Eddie Graham
[Swerve Strickland injured]
Match 3:
Pac, Vladimir Petrov & Jake Roberts vs. Bad News Allen, Gorilla Monsoon & Keith Lee
Lee's strength is on display as he tosses Petrov across the ring. Pac's aerial assault keeps Monsoon off balance, but Allen's street-fighting style evens the odds. Roberts attempts a DDT on Allen, but Lee pounces with a Spirit Bomb on Roberts, securing the victory.
Winners: Bad News Allen, Gorilla Monsoon & Keith Lee
Match 4:
