~Series Synopsis~
As far as the world knows Morbier Hall is simply a state run orphanage which inhabits a century old prep school. Below the surface however is a high risk, morally ambivient social experiment, putting the old environment versus genetics argument to the test. Many of the students are children of the most hardened criminals, given up for adoption or taken by the state at a young age when their parents have either died or gone to prison. Too young to remember their parents, or at least the administrators hope, and given a new identity. The year is 2008 and for the first time a crop of young students, who have lived, loved, and learned in Morbier Hall are turning 18 and graduating. They will no longer be wards of the state and will soon be leaving Morbier Hall as a new crop of seniors will be preparing for life on the outside. However, a tumultuous year lies ahead for all the students and administrators at Morbier Hall.
A year and its events that will threaten to crash the century old brick walls down upon them.

1.01 – “Summertime Blues”
Year end party before summer. Most of the teachers leave the orphanage for the summer and they are replaced with a skeleton security staff as well as some sports and lifestyle coaches. The students have pleaded for more field trips in the summer but usually only get to go to the beach and other places they can be isolated from the general public.
One of the teachers, a Ms. Aldo, rumored to be having an affair with Mr. Regal is pushed out her 3rd floor office window, to her death. A shadow can be seen retreating form her office. As all the attention is on that incident, one of the Juniors, Shane takes the opportunity to strangle another junior to death. No reason for either murder is made apparent.
We see a distinguished looking German businessman come off a plane in New York, accompanied by a couple of thugs. A pair of FBI operatives watch him from an airport bar. Another operative discreetly takes pictures. The Germans are greeted by another thug, this one Irish who hands the German a manilla envelope. In slightly accented English he asks if he has found his son. The Irish man nods in the affirmative and tells him its all in there.
Mr. Cassels works with the Police to solve both crimes but the students are perplexed by the lack of questions they are asked.
Creagen, a freshman, comes forward to confide in Mr. Cassels that he saw Mr. Regal leaving the administrative building where Ms. Aldo was killed. Mr. Cassles thanks Creagen says he will pass it on to the detectives, but says at this point they are leaning towards a possible suicide.
Shane recruits another freshman, George to threaten Creagen with a knife if he talks to the police again. Creagen is saved in the nick of time by Jessica who happens along but isn’t aware of what George was doing. It appears that George and Jessica are a couple, much to the chagrin of Creagen.
Ms. Douglas, the well intentioned guidance counselor tries unsuccessfully to get the headmaster, the stern and enigmatic Dr. Lacey, to reconsider her request to take the soon to be senior class to an art gallery. He turns her down flat.
Shane watches Abby from a distance. She is a wild child. He tries to approach her and strt up a conversation with her but she just walks away, angering him.
Liam is working in the dark in the computer lab. A bunch of web pages flash across the screen and we see that he is transferring them to a USB drive. He is impatient and when he detects a network presence on another computer he decides to abort, pull out the USB and crash the system. He then runs to his room and hides the USB stick.
Cassels , the security chief, gives Lacey an update on the investigation of the two deaths. Ms. Aldo’s the police are willing to call a suicide pending an autopsy and toxicology results. Both men agree that they will find drugs in her system and will declare it a suicide. The student however, is a homicide and the police are insisting on interviewing the students and are preparing warrants to try and get their personnel files. Lacey seems angry at this but not worried. He says the most important thing right now is just to keep a lid on things, or this simmering pot will boil over. Lacey says he doesn’t have to remind Cassles that if the the apple doesn’t fall from the tree then they are dealing with a bushel full of bad apples right here. Society’s interest does not include having these monsters enter the general public. Cassels says he could use some time to go through the students dorms again and update some of the surveillance equipment installed. Lacey agrees, saying this will work both for him and appease Ms. Douglas.
The soon to be senior class is touring an art gallery with Ms. Douglas, and two other unnamed male teachers. The other two teachers seem to be more concerned about keeping an eye on the surroundings then the art itself. They keep insisting the group stay together, Lacey & Cassels orders they say, despite the annoyance of Ms Douglas.
Jarron & Ksenio share some private thoughts on a painting before being shooed forward. Ksenio whispers to Jarron asking him why Mr. Cassels didn’t come, usually he does on all field trips. Jarron just shrugs his shoulders, but Shane overhears and whispers to them that he is probably too busy going through everyone’s dorms again. Its obvious that Jarron and Ksenio don’t like Shane, maybe are even scared of him, and try and move ahead but he won’t be left behind. He keeps trying to make nice with Ksenio despite her brushing him off until finally Jarron and Shane end up in a pushing match. This distracts the two male teachers who get between the two boys.
A few seconds later Jarron realizes that Ksenio is gone, and after a quick look around everyone clues into what happened. The male teachers produce walkie talkies and start barking orders to close off the gallery and run down the hall. Jarron sees a gun poke out from the waistband of one of them as they run. Ms. Douglas tries to hold back the students but many including Jarron and Shane run after them. They arrive on the street just in time to see that one of the teachers has Ksenio and is protectively covering her while the other is about to fire his gun at a white panel van that is screeching away, but holsters the weapon when he sees the students flood out on the street.
Ms. Douglas and the rest of the students enter the street and after a quick head count, she is startled to admit that Abby is missing.
1.02 - "Little Monsters"
Abby is found, having wandered off on her own to continue to look at paintings aparently oblivious to the drama around her.
After returning to the school Headmaster Lacey orders a complete lockdown which Cassels is happy to implement. Cassels tells Lacey he was unable to finish the changes to the surveillance system, and even worse because he was interrupted they now have some blind spots.
As summer passes the students get a little stir crazy confined to campus. Jessica and Creagen extend a olive branch to George which he slowly accepts, despite Shane continuing to try and influence and control George.
Liam breaks out of his shell long enough to confide in Jessica and Creagen that he has been trying to hack the campus computers and beyond on the internet. He says a lot of content is being blocked from the campus, random type stuff. They are hiding something. Jessica and Creagen say its probably just stuff for security but Liam insists that they are hiding stuff about the news, history, and their own personal histories.
Jarron and Ksenia's love continues to blossom, much to the chagrin of the jealous Shane. In frustration Shane makes a play for the guidance councellor Ms Douglas but is shot down in flames.
During a security update Dr. Lacey makes mention to Cassels that he (Dr Lacey) is the father of one of the children on campus, so to remember that they are not all animals. Cassels says they are keeping a close eye on Liam's computer access as he is becoming way to curious. Lacey says its important that they don't stiffle the childrens learning, they need to be able to earn a living and cope with the real world once they graduate. He makes mention that this year will be the first year that students graduate from this facility, an event that will change everything.
Abby is shown crying in her room, she takes out a knife, rolls up her sleeve. Apparently she is a self-mutilator.
The FBI have the German businessman in questioning. He says he will still abide by his agreement with the FBI and the US Government and will not attempt to contact his son. He claims he is just keeping tabs on his son so that when he graduates, and turns 18, he can contact him then. The FBI seem to have their hands tied, they release him, but provide him with a plane ticket back to Europe.
One FBI agent asks the other, why did he fly commercial? Did he want us to catch him? What is he up to? They both just shake their heads.
At dawn we see Mr & Mrs Braun, two new teachers arriving on the campus. Mrs Braun is shown to the office that used to belong to Ms Aldo by Cassels. They comment on how creepy it all seems. Cassel informs her when she asks, that it has been ruled a suicide, and that apparently she had a drug problem, possibly fueled by the isolation of the campus. She squeezes her husbands hand and says that won't be a problem for them. After Cassels leaves the room Mr. Braun presses up against her and after some light petting she stops him, much to his frustration.
An alarm sounds and security rushes to the dorms, led by Cassels. Shane and Abby are both missing and unaccounted for.
1.03 - "Manhunt"
A manhunt is organized when it is figured that Shane has packed his stuff and left Morbier Hall. Cassels leads the hunt with some private security guys and a helicopter.
Overhearing a few of the other senior girls giggling about how weird Abby is, and how she probably wandered away while contemplating a butterfly, Ksenia tries to get them to cut out the talk so they just turn it on her instead.
The Brauns settle into their respective classrooms. The young couple prove to be playful and friendly with the students, something not lost on Headmaster Lacey with some concern.
Mr. Regal has to keep his composure when he finds drawings on his desk left by a student, implicating him in the death of Ms Aldo.
Jessica turns to Ksenia when she needs advice about her relationship with Creagen and about the birds and the bees. They discuss what its like to not have parents, and what they are missing out on. Ksenia wonders aloud about the legitimacy of the Hall. She figures that most orphans come from broken homes, but everyone here seems so bright and charasmatic, it just seems to be quite a crop of orphans. Jessica then states the obvious, maybe we're not as bright as we think we are, because we dont have anything to compare to.
The hunting party first tracks down Abby, who admits to having followed Shane, tracking him for fun, but she lost him. Minutes later they catch up to Shane with the helicopter and bring him back against his will. As Shane is being restrained he yells at Cassels that he knows something strange is going on at Morbier and he's going to find out what, even if it kills him.
