~series synopsis~
The Green Lantern, surges out of the comic book pages of the DC world into weekly action. WWII American fighter pilot Hal Jordan is shot down behind Nazi lines. That twist of fate leads to his meeting with the dying alien Abin Sur who hands off his ring to Jordan making him the newest member of the Green Lantern Corps. Follow Jordan's adventures during the closing months of WW2 and into the cold war that follows as he secretly continues to fight the evil that the western world wrongly believes they have already vanquished. Guest stars from the DC world including Sgt. Rock will join him in his quest.

1.01 - "Utterly Honest and Born Without Fear"
guest star - Samuel Jackson
March 1945, Allies final push into Germany, across the Rhine. Hal Jordan, an American pilot, gets shot down behind enemy lines, hunted by Nazi’s he crawls into a cave. He meets the dying Abin Sur (guest star Samuel Jackson) and is given the ring and lantern. Sur says he has been waiting for someone utterly honest and born without fear. He tells an amazed Jordan about the Green Lantern Corps. He also imparts knowledge of a Nazi super-villian, and an even greater evil that awaits mankind then the Nazis. After Sur dies Jordan manages to fight through the Nazi’s without the use of the ring, but is separated from his lantern and has to be saved by Sgt. Rock (Steve Austin) who is very impressed by the damage Jordan has wrought. Together Jordan and Rock hunt down the Nazi super-villain Hanz Heidler (Jurgen Prochnow) to a castle where they defeat the Nazi’s but not Heidler who manages an escape.

1.02 – "Daughter of the Resistance"
March 1945; Having accomplished their mission Rock’s troops (Easy Company) are sent on to Berlin, but Rock and Jordan decide to go after the super villian Hanz Heimler themselves into the mountains. Rock saves Jordan’s life after he almost tumbles off a cliff. They attack a small fortress, and kill Heimler, and rescue a daughter of the French Resistance (Marie Letain) who Jordan instantly falls for.
During the battle with Heimler, Sgt Rock is near death when Jordan uses the ring for the first time to create a protective shield around Rock, and then creates a hammer which knocks Heimler off the mountain. Heimler had created some sort of portal to another world. Although he was defeated he managed to get the portal open. From within came the Time Trapper, a strange robed figure. Green Lantern tried to defeat it using the ring but no matter what he did, the Time Trapper just kept coming. However, strangely enough the robed figure did not hurt Jordan, instead fleeing into the night. With both Rock and Letain having been knocked out in the battle with Heimler neither saw Jordan use the ring, nor saw the supernatural force of the Time Trapper.

1.03- "Running Hot and Cold"
April 1945; Hal Jordan recovers in a military hospital in the UK, where he is visited by his new French girlfriend (Marie Letain). However, he doesn’t sit on the sidelines long as he is recruited by the government (CIA) after receiving the medal of honor to go to Berlin and help recruit scientists to come to the west instead of Russia. The cold war has begun even before the hot one has ended, as both Russian and American spies attempt to lure the brightest scientific German minds to their side. On the way over though his convoy is attacked by Axin Sur, the brother of Abin Sur trying to get his ring back. For the first time Hal Jordan begins to use the ring toward its full potential. He manages to drive off Axin Sur. We also get a first glimpse of super villian Black Hand (William Hand). He see's the battle that occurs between Jordan and Axin Sur and then examines the scene afterward, taking samples of the earth and other affected materials.

Green Lantern – story arc

Together Jordan and Rock hunt down the Nazi super-villain to a castle where they defeat the Nazi’s but not the SV.

Rock saves Jordan’s life after he almost tumbles off a cliff. They attack a small fortress, kill the SV, and rescue a daughter of the French Revolution who Jordan falls for. Jordan gets an initial visit from the Time Trapper.

1.03 – April 1945; Jordan recovers in a military hospital in the UK, where he is visited by his new French girlfriend. However, he doesn’t sit on the sidelines long as he is recruited by the government after receiving the medal of honor to go to Berlin and help recruit scientists to come to the west instead of Russia. On the way over though his convoy is attacked by Axin Sur, the brother of Abin Sur trying to get his ring back. We also get a first glimpse of Black Hand who is following Green Lantern and picking up his residue.

1.04 – May 1945; Jordan works in Berlin convincing Russian scientists to come to America. He assures them that America, unlike Russia, will only use the atomic bomb as a deterrent. Jordan has a run-in with a CIA chief who doesn’t like a half-hispanic agent being used in Berlin. Jordan’s girlfriend is kidnapped by the Russians and he goes to rescue her, only to fall into their trap. Brought to a secret underground bunker and then begins transport to Moscow, and finds out that his French girlfriend has been a Russian plant all this time. He ends up breaking free, and in the final moments makes a decision to save the Russian spy instead of one of his own GI’s who had been held prisoner.

1.05 – June 1945; Guilt having set in Jordan retreats back to America.
